Game Thread Spurs (57-18) @ Warriors (29-45) (Wed 4/1/2026) [9:00PM CDT]

If Kawhi plays, the Clippers will not be easy to beat on a second night of a b2b.

Kornet in and out of the lineup with a knee issue right before playoffs is a bit concerning. As is Mitch decision to just flat out play without a center for a stint or two whenever Luke is out. :st-lol:

We somehow have the best center in the league but also probably need to get a real "2b" center in the off season.

Man, not what I wanted to hear about Luke. All those reservations I had at the start of the season were exactly about things like this. I hope he's alright for the playoffs and it's not too bad.

Should've traded for Jock Landale at the deadline tbh. Could've been had for cheap (Hawks got him for cash considerations). Rolling into the Playoffs with Bismack and Plumdog as our only insurance policy at the position isn't ideal to say the least.

Very losable game imo, esp with the Clippers coming off a loss. Hopefully we can crush GS tonight so our starters can play limited minutes, but GS typically competes pretty hard regardless of who's on the floor so we'll see.

Yeah, I was very interested in Jock. I thought the Spurs couldn't get him as I thought it would cost more to get him. Soon as Memphis traded him, I thought I wonder if we can trade for him. If I had of known he could have been gotten that cheaply, I for sure would have wanted to get him. I wonder if the Spurs were even interested? Maybe Ainge wouldn't have wanted to deal with the Spurs? I also wonder if the Spurs have preconceived ideas about a player they've had on the team before and whether or not they're willing to give them another chance if they didn't like something about the player the first time around.

Suns game was exactly two weeks ago.
Since then, Spurs played five games.
The only Spur that played more than 30 minutes in any of those games was Castle who played 34 against the Bulls.
You guys need to relax with the rest talk. I'm more worried about our guys losing their edge because they haven't been properly challenged in weeks.

Darn, I didn't think the current run was in that kind of place historically. I don't know if it really means anything in regards to the playoffs, but I'd like to see them get above the Lakers and Heat as both those teams won the Championship those years, and you could also say that Houston and Dallas should have won in those years they did their runs too. That is some pretty darn good company. All those teams were Championship level.

I think resting Kornet tonight is more precautionary than anything tbh. Spurs have 3 games in 4 days coming up and GS plays a lot of small-ball so they're likely giving him another day of rest so that he'll be ready to go vs. the Clips and the Nuggets, who we'll definitely need him for. If he misses one or both of those games then it'll be more worrisome.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs punt the Nuggets games (particularly if the Thunder beat the Lakers tomorrow). Just feels like with the 2 seed being locked up and 1 seed looking doubtful we would rather not give the Nugs/Jokic any film etc to solve Wemby. We also want Denver/Minny in the 4/5 which would eliminate one of our tougher match ups so feeding Denver some wins helps that happen (hope they don't pass LA tho).

This 3 thru 6 race is is crazy, going to come down to the last day.
