Game Thread Spurs (56-18) vs Bulls (29-45) (Mon 3/30/2026) [7:00PM CDT]

OKC is rolling again now so that #1 spot is not realistic. And looking at the first playoffs of this team I would rather play the Clips and the Lakers and getting to the conference finals in the first try would be an absolute awesome achievement for this group. I know everybody is hyped and we got OKCs number but I doubt that our guys are ready for that task already - HCA or not.

So just keep it rolling and stay healthy!

This will be our last "easy" game before our tough upcoming road trip:

- @ Golden State (with Curry potentially set to return against us [of course])
- @ the Clippers (who always seem to give us trouble) on the second leg of a b2b
- @ the Nuggets on a Saturday afternoon, which will likely have a Playoff atmosphere to it,
theyre on the road so ill grant that

but GSW is not playing particularly well now, and Moody played very well against us in 2 of the 3 games so far, including the most recent one. they're not really a concern.

clippers on a segababa... yeah that can go either way as they're at full strength now. but if we are scared of the clippers, nobody should be excited for the playoffs if thats the bar

@ denver is going to rough. 3rd game in 4 nights and denver is clawing for home court in round 1

Just getting a shot at them is all I want. Anything can happen, but the Spurs gotta get there first to at least give themselves a chance.

I don't know, but I think you're going to see the Spurs crank it up in the playoffs. I don't know what you guys think about that, I think they're going to go up even another level in the playoffs. I feel they've got yet another gear they can hit, and I think they will crank it up even more in the playoffs. I feel like the Spurs aren't even showing close to their max yet.

Winning a championship is so hard and timing is everything. In past years, it would be a much easier path to the NBA finals. But the re-rise of the Spurs happens to coincide with the rise of the Thunder, being potentially one of the best teams in recent memory. The vibes are a little bit like the Lakers 2000-2003.. It’s getting there.

I would say tonight’s OKC/DET game will be a bellwether of the WC race. If Detroit beats them, it’s on. If they don’t, we can probably start resting guys. Even though they don’t have Cade, it’s quite possible, CHI was right in the thick of it until they realized they were in danger of a win, and dumped the game. Detroit, even without Cade, is a better team than CHI.

Well, looks like that game is a bust if Detroit is resting everyone. Just saw it mentioned in another thread.

Yeah I had Detroit maybe winning but it looks like they are punting this 1 for rest.. The kind of thing the NBA just loves when the game is being streamed on their new platform. OKC wins here.. Plus we have a back to back this week that is likely going to be a loss. So the 2 seed it is..

They might be able to crank it up on defense and Fox getting the ball more to set up the offense may help as well. But I always remember Danny Green whos 3 point shot flamed out in his first conference finals. I fear our 3 point shooting will go completely cold at some point because the young guys just can't handle it ... yet.

I’m confident in their defensive intensity, yet on the offensive end, as long as their 3pt shooting keeps up and not drop drastically, they will be dangerous as it opens up the floor

Gotta get to the WCF for sure, and if they are healthy I would be pretty surprised if they don't get there.. Once there to beat OKC Fox, Castle and Harper all have to play really well.. Plus Wemby has to back up that MVP talk and be an alien.. That is a big ask.. But I can't see us winning without that happening..

I just think the team will collectively play great in the playoffs. I do agree with what your saying that those guys have to play really well/great, but I think the team as a whole, that cohesion they have developed is really going to help come playoff time and they'll put it together and play great basketball.

Lame Detroit is punting against a team on the 2nd night of a b2b. Real pretender stuff.

Get your shit together Fox, jeez :st-lol:
I had high hopes for Fox when he started off the first couple months of the season shooting like 40% from 3. Didn't think that was sustainable but I thought maybe he'd finally developed a 3PT shot and would hover around like 37-38%, which is a little above league average. Then he plummeted back down to earth in December along with the rest of the team when we had that rough shooting stretch after the OKC game on Christmas. Then he picked it back up starting around late-January through February before plummeting back down this month. So his 3PT% has def been up and down this season. He's at 34% right now which isn't horrible, but it's still below league average. But so long as he makes them at a decent clip in the Playoffs then that's all that matters.

Fox needs to dial those paint drives up even more as we get near the playoffs.
