Yea I was legit sitting in my seat thinking "no way this is happening again" lmaoI can imagine how loud you were when Wemby hit the game winner especially because before that you had to be questioning your luck with game threads. All the missed bunnies at the rim too.
. All the missed layups, Gillespie going off on us again, the fact that Fox, Harper, AND Keldon were all playing terrible on the same night, etc. Knew I'd never hear the end of it on here
. But I was actually confident Fox and/or Wemby would come through once we got the last stop to give us the last shot tbh. That's not a foul, even by today's rules. Booker stepped on Fox's foot before lunching for the shot. It's not like Brook jumped to shoot and then landed on Fox's foot.
oh of course, i was thrilled with the draft outcome. even if bryant wasnt #1 on my personal board, he was on the list of guys i really liked. if we went a different direction like Kasparas or Asa Newell or something i'd have been disappointedI was Bryant/Coward (same as you, didn't have a strong preference) -> Sorber -> Fleming. But I felt Bryant/Coward were a tier ahead. I was slightly bummed we didn't go for a backup center with our 2rp but that's aight. It's tough to not be excited about drafting Harper and Bryant in the same draft.
Fox was keeping well away from him and didn't foul him as he he kicked out his leg like he was punting the ball. Thanks Sir Acelot for that last five minutes. Just riveting basketball.
The end of that game definitely gave me "Duncan in 2003" vibes.... Spurs down 10 with 4 minutes left and come back and win with key stops and a last second shot to win by 1.
One thing I don't get though, why no Rocky music before/after Vic makes that shot? It was always a tradition with the Spurs in the Duncan/Robinson eras especially in this arena. It's something that's been deeply missed and in hibernation for 10+ years, bring it back.
Karma Gods for that egregious traveling non-call on Jalen Green a few plays earlier.Book is the one stepping on Fox's feet
And it's not after the shot where the defender has to give the shooter space to land
I'm not sure that's a foul
Fleming is a 60% FT shooter so lol at Sons to let him play the final mn and great coaching on Spurs to foul him immediately and when he got the ballFleming looks like a really good player, notwithstanding the missed free throws at the end
I was thinking the same thing about the music - either that or The Final Countdown. They used to play the synth melody from that during a timeout before the last play of a tight game. The end of that game definitely gave me "Duncan in 2003" vibes.... Spurs down 10 with 4 minutes left and come back and win with key stops and a last second shot to win by 1.
