Game Thread Spurs (51-18) vs Suns (39-30) (Thu 3/19/2026) [7:00 PM CDT]

:st-lol: Booker injured himself on that flop
Actually I saw a picture from another angle and it shows that he stepped on Fox’s foot. I immediately got pissed because WHY was Fox close enough for him to step on his foot?!! Could have resulted in free throws if the refs didn’t swallow their whistle

God dammit Fox

I am kinda glad he got off the bench just cuz I like it when players I was high on pre-draft turn out. Lil' dopamine kick. My main reason for not wanting him ahead of Bryant was he didn't really play very smart basketball... and as a Spurs fan I know that can be difficult (tho not impossible) to correct. But he's a beast and if the 3pt is true, he's gonna be an effective player.

Bryant, who I was ecstatic was still available for us, has already exceeded my expectations for the first year tho. I really thought that dude would be stashed in Austin.
my preference between the guys i felt would be there was

1) Fleming
2) Bryant/Coward (was very back and forth between those two)
3) Sorber

i was fine with any of those, but i understand why they chose Bryant over Fleming. with that said, i was very agitated we didnt make a move to grab Fleming when he fell as far as he did. as i've been saying in the prospects thread, guys with freakish wingspans who give effort on defense and have a functional 3pt shot are not guys you should pass up on

this year's version of that in our draft range seems to be Cameron Carr. while im not as high on him, Cenac meets that criteria as well

Was funny seeing Booker flop on that last sec heave

That was boneheaded move by Fox sticking too close to Booker on that heave. Could have easily been 3 free throws but i think the clock expired that's why the refs swallowed their whistle.

To his credit, Fox turned around and was facing away from Booker at the end. You can still foul someone with your back turned, but it's far less likely.

Finally made it home from the game + a late dinner afterwards. Never a doubt tbh.
I can imagine how loud you were when Wemby hit the game winner especially because before that you had to be questioning your luck with game threads. All the missed bunnies at the rim too :st-lol:.

lol, wow. So Fox nearly screwed up again. Lucky no foul was called (shouldn't have been one, but you shouldn't take the chance).

I was Bryant/Coward (same as you, didn't have a strong preference) -> Sorber -> Fleming. But I felt Bryant/Coward were a tier ahead. I was slightly bummed we didn't go for a backup center with our 2rp but that's aight. It's tough to not be excited about drafting Harper and Bryant in the same draft.
