Weird flex by Brown to get this worked up about what was basically a non-event.
I agree with all those here who didn't love the Spurs' offensive process in this game: They let themselves be baited into playing the Celtics' style. It worked this time (they actually outscored Boston 20-47 to 19-51 from downtown), but it wasn't good, sustainable offense for our guys. I mean, CB and Castle combining for 15 three point shots is something that opponents will always take (for now, anyway), and Wemby got a bit too trigger happy as well and didn't work enough to score more often closer to the basket.
But hey, it was still a win, and a somewhat fun game to watch as well with Wemby hitting 8 threes, Dylan vs. Ron, and D. White going off for 34 points and all that.

Tatum had 24, Harper Jr. had a career game, and White went apeshit in the third quarter finishing with 34 points. Made up for Brown and Pritchard's absences tbh. They also banked in like 4 threes.

If Wemby is going to shoot over 50% from 3 in a game then fucking launch away. People will manufacture dumb shit to complain about.

There were several of the 3s that were bad choices. Off the dribble or hesitation shots early in the clock. Otherwise they had a lot of open catch and shoot looks and those you take.

When you’re evaluating our guys 3 point shooting,you need to look at the window we’re in. During this 16-1 run, Harper is shooting 38%, and Bryant is on a similar track.

I would disagree with this. Derrick was pretty damn good for us, too. I would have always picked him over DM while both were on the Spurs. Dejounte was flash and no substance. White did all the little things to help a team that don't make the box score. Glue guys are tough to find. I think the Celtics recognize what they have in him, so good for him.

His scoring last night though was pretty insane. Typical for a an-Spur to light us up when he plays us.

Celtics were kind of bitches last night. Brown getting ejected wasn't great for the game, but he kind of deserved it. National media were saying they shouldn't have ejected one of the main stars knowing the impact it would have on the game, but he should also know when to back off a bit.

And it wasn't really talked about anywhere, but Tatum was close to really injuring Keldon on that rebound late in the game where he and KJ's arms were tangled and Tatum yanked on Keldon's arm up by the shoulder. I think Tatum realized what he was doing and eased off a bit, plus Keldon is strong AF, but that was a dick move. Keldon was nursing his shoulder a bit afterwards. Thank goodness Tatum didn't break Keldon's arm.

I didn't love how they got roped into a 3pt shooting contest with Boston. But can't argue with the results, love how Castle/Vic/CB all shot the open looks without hesitation.

Bodes well for when teams try to defend them that way come playoff time tbh.

I want nothing to do with Boston or NY in a potential Finals series tbh. Not saying we can't beat either, but I'd rather not have to find out. If the Spurs are to make it out of the gauntlet that is the Western Conference, I'd much rather play Detroit or Cleveland or any other EC team for that matter.

I'd honestly rather play the Knicks than the Celtics tbh. Knicks are a rough matchup because of their rebounding but Boston has the better shooters and I think the much better coach IMO.

I watched the game and saw what he did. The ref stood there, let him yell, didn't do anything. And then he kept going. You could see he was reluctant about it. Then the dumbass turned back around - again and threateningly walked toward him swearing.

That's an ejection ten out of ten times.

What's funny is the videos that they were showing on Reddit were edited not to show what he did so that they could whine about what a quick whistle it was. Some people have zero shame.

Jaylen Brown flopped with minimal contact which is just normal good defense with a hand on the hip by Castle. JB over-reacted, accosted the ref who visibly asked "What?" as he was legitimately listening to JB's complaint on the 2nd wave of the onslaught, the 3rd wave incurred technical #1. That's generous AF from the ref. The fact that a different ref stepped in with the ejection was telling in the way this unfolded. Maybe this was part of the plan? That makes as much sense to me as the raw data of the events. Keldon's hilarious ref dance on the sidelines makes this so much better as he knew that the other ref was ejecting him. That was such great comedic relief and shows where the Spurs heads are at.

If JB gets a suspension, that could really alter the Celtics trajectory in the post-season, effectively bringing 2 losses to his team. If he though that Castle was pushing, wait til OKC and their Edward Scissorhands defense digs in tomorrow night.

Oh I remember Pop doing that about 5-10 times every season in the Duncan era. And points to you for mentioning Draymond. Also, Durant, prime Kobe, Lebron and a few others are in that category. He did IMO. He earned his first tech. Ref heard him out then he doubled down and probalby said some stupid shit. Then after getting a T instead of just cooling off because he needed to stay in the game for his team, he lost his damn mind. His whole team was holding him back at that point because they knew. And to the refs credit, he didn't seem like he was going to T him up again but the other ref was like fuck this shit and gave him a justified T.

You can't be an asshole like that after they've given you an opportunity to say your piece. Once you get that first T you have to stop. Its pretty fucking basic.

The only thing funnier than Brown's crash out is the crash out of Boston fans. They suffer from the same anger issues, it seems.

a foul was probably the right call on the play, and JB was given plenty of latitude to yell and vent, more than many others would get

the spurs have had their share of bad no-calls this year. wemby got raked across the face earlier in the game. he did go down in pain, but he didnt get animated and aggressive toward the refs about it. wemby has been the recipeint of an ungodly amount of physicality this year with non-calls (look at the first detroit game) but he doesnt have a single technical foul this year.

castle's entire game is driving into contact which often ends up with no-calls. he has 2 techs this year (and in his career) total. Fox has a total of 2 techs since joining the spurs
