Game Thread Spurs (47-17) vs Celtics (43-21) (Tues 03/10/26) [7:00PM CDT]

Exactly. Ref lays out the reason for the ejection. Twice going with profanity-laced outbursts and especially the aggressive charge toward the official (a total no-go move)

Yeah you can see on the replay, Ford lets him have his say and doesn't T him up, but then Brown turns around and says more and thats when Frod Ts him up. Brown just escalated from that point on. Just indefensible from Brown and his team knew what was coming which is why they held him back. I definitely didn't want the Spurs to play a game like this but that's on Brown. If he can't not lose his shit over a call that could go either way then that's his teams problem not the Spurs.

Disagree, we barely scraped by a very injured Celtics team, Knicks are a terrible matchup, and Edward’s goes HAM against us.

Not saying we can’t beat those teams, but we def aren’t a lock for the WCF but should be able to make it that far. Matchups will be everything
I’m just not really going to stress out about it when 3-6 is just so crowded who knows what’s even going to happen? Winning championships is hard as hell. Always will be.

Missed the 2nd half so will have to catch up tomorrow, but glad to see we are 1-0 in the Plumdog Era.

As for Brown, he was practically begging for that ejection. Pursuing and berating multiple refs after you just got T'd up once used to be automatic. The first T is your warning to calm the fuck down, not escalate.

The problem is the refs are inconsistent with it and let certain guys like Draymond get away with it, and now players act surprised when that 2nd T comes.

Yeah but to go from 12 straight playoff wins and back door swept will always be ugly

2012 I kind of actually did expect to win at all. That team was retooled, the bench deepened, we swapped out Hill for a rookie superstar who pretty much filled all the holes in one move, Tiago Splitter finally was let out of the doghouse, Danny Green was a pleasant surprise on both ends, at the all star break we were able to swap out Dick Jefferson for Stephen Jackson which was huge, then we added Boris Diaw and Patty Mills for a very deep and competent roster at both ends.

2011 was not the same. That season always felt like fool's gold (reminiscent of 2001 and 2002 imo), a team with a very shallow bench and holes in the core rotation like the Turd Towers and Dick Jefferson, even George Hill - I liked the guy - but he was often a misfit on offense - and Gary Neal was too much of a one trick pony. Tiago Splitter didn't get to play except in garbage time. That team over-relied on the Big Three especially Manu and peaked early. Even if Timmy doesn't get hurt and Manu doesn't break his arm, no way we get past OKC in round 2 that year. I mean, when Malik Hairson, Garrett Temple and Keith Bogans (and Udoka) are regular season rotation guys...

2012 was all pop magic covering up lot of deficiencies…

We aren’t any where near as talented as now. This team has lot of depth who can play both sides well..

We need to give CB as much play time as possible. Thats No 1 priority to us.

no, that was 2011. At least in the first 2/3 of the regular season.

2012 the back half of the season the Spurs were deep and legit. That team was totally elite on defense, too. They ran into a buzzsaw in OKC but if not for a fluke Game 4 by "Dirkbaka" we take that series in 5. Danny Green losing his confidence at the worst time hurt us, too.

Any nba player that acts HALF as idiotic as Draymond has to be ejected- that is the rule! Once you do HALF of the shit draymond does to nba officials- you have crossed a red line!

If this was draymond tonite- he would not have even got the first tech- let alone the 2nd lol

Another great win by the Spurs. Would have preferred to see Brown not being ejected but I guess then White would not have been this successful tonight.
We talked about x-factors before the game and thankfully the 3 point shooting held up enough to keep up with C's.
The number of Celtics fans in the crowd was annoying.
One thing I hate is when we lead by about 10 with like 4 minutes to go and Sean says something like slow the game down. That is not who we are. And it nearly backfired again.

And about Bam Adebayo ... what a feat. Who cares who they played or how large the lead was. If you have 40 points in the first half you are obligated to go for 100. Its a contractual obligation with the universe. Bam missed some chippies so 90 was in play.

The thing I found perplexing about all of the Jaylen Brown antics was that after he received the first tee, none of the Celtics on the floor including D. White, attempted to curtail or restrain him.
He was rabid and clearly out of his mind in the moment, incensed to the point of being a liability yet they just let him keep chirping, eventually leading to the aggressive pursuit of the ref. and subsequent ejection.
Thought that was really poor leadership and hints at potentially deeper cultural issues with that team
Have to think Keldon, Vassell or Fox would never allow Wemby and co. to get to that point.

Celtics couldnt miss from 3 and hitting some bs

thankfully Wemby was equally hot and Castle hit some 3s as well

another win 😎

this brutal stretch continues, Nuggets and Hornets next then Clippers on the road

wtf happened, Bam just got 83 points, 36 out of 43 free throws, wtf was Washington doing

Celtics broadcast said the team has a 3&D Printer and I got a laugh out of that. Those shooters are legit. Hauser is nearly automatic.

just saw the highlights, couldn’t watch. Jaylen brown is a fucking dumbass.

Also why was Derrick white never this good for us? Dude always had plantar fasciitis and was definitely worse than dejounte

Consistently? No. He absolutely was this good for the Spurs at multiple points though, including the 2019 playoffs.

White's career tracks exactly right. He was really good for the Spurs. He was just young and developing. He's developed into who he is now. That's part of what happens with experience. The reason he's not here anymore is because he was too good too soon and needed to be on a more veteran team.

I know you're joking but yeah they weren't. Sarr had a really good game which nobody noticed. Also they were holding, double and triple teaming him to keep the ball out of his hands in the 4th.
