Game Thread Spurs (37-16) @ Warriors (29-25) (Wed 02/11/26) [9:00 PM CST]

2nd year TP obviously started at PG for a championship team, but obviously was a bit hot and cold, and Pop was never hesitant to replace him with the likes of Claxton, Kerr, Anthony Goldwire (bet you forgot him), then Claxton again when he came back from injury, whenever TP was struggling or committing too many turnovers.
2003 we beat the Nets in 6, right? Was that when Kerr started draining 3s? lol

when they traded for him this was the obvious gel. For some reason they hardly run it. Hope they are saving for playoffs but mitch is dumb as a rock so who knows.
Not to be such a homer but fuck they really look like they're just coasting right now.

I hope the All-Star break doesn't screw them up.

Keldon with the bald head actually looks a bit like Barkley. Embracing the comparison in full.
But yet his jumpshot reminds me of if Jaren Jackson and Stephen Jackson had a baby together.

Nah, that was the Dallas series. Parker was subbed out in the fourth quarter of both series clinching game 6's, but in the Nets series it was Claxton's 18 foot two point jumpers and a barrage of Jackson threes. And Duncan being Duncan. And the Nets simply couldn't score after Kidd made the first two shots in the first minute of the quarter because that team actually gave a damn about defense.

Luckily they have a buffer now tbh. As long as they go .500 the rest of the way on the RRT (going 1-1 against the Pistons whether they beat them at DET or at home) they'll be in good shape imo.

Doubt they are saving it. Why not get all the reps you can and perfect it before it really counts

2nd year TP was about to combine with Popped to lose to Dallas and rob Timmy Duncar of another Chip in 2003.
Popped had NO intention of playing Kerr, rather Speedy Clax tweaked an ankle.
It was Steve Kerr going coma that bailed out.
42-15 run sparked by Kerr after the Spurs were down 15 as the 4th qtr neared.

Finals it was Speedy Claxton replacing average Parker.

I think I counted three whole Wemby-Fox pick and rolls, and they scored on each one. Imagine that!
Secrit playz for the playoffs, tbh. At this point I can't be convinced of anything else. It's just too on-the-nose, and they do use it, just never for long.

The Wemby/Fox PnR is so tantalizing. It seems like Fox gets a clean look at the rim every time due to the lob threat. I hope we see much more of this come playoff time.

The first reason is obvious - to reduce the amount of tape available to opponents. Every single play is clipped and acquired on demand nowadays, it's too easy to study up plays.

I also think that it's one of those plays that doesn't really need too much refinement, given the personnel. Fox has made a career out of driving through PnR's, and Wemby is just Wemby, lob it up and it's over. I can see how they think it's not worth running much in the RS (for better and worse)

Carter Bryant is a cross between Vince and Kobe.
You mean like he wore their sneakers?

That Harper row. Wow. Not a single stint where the Spurs trailed when he was on the court. Keldon too.
Have no idea why Mitch had Castle and Vassell in as much as they were when obviously Keldon and Harper were excelling.

Thrilled with the comeback win in late 3rd qtr - 4th curbstomping fashion.
