Game Thread Spurs (34-16) @ Mavs (19-31) (Thu 2/05/26) [7:30 PM CST]

Flagg is an unbelievable talent so I don't think it's nuts for he and Wemby to be compared. No one has Victor's ceiling but that's his ceiling and no one knows how close he comes to it. My only worry with Flagg is that Dallas won't be able put a team around him and he could end up like Cleveland Bron or Minnesota KG having to go to greener pastures to win. Still, Wemby's far from his ceiling and already a top 5 player in the league so I'm betting of the two Wemby is considered the better player in 25 years when both have long since retired.

Comparing Flagg to Wembanyama is equally as predictable as it is crazy.

With possibly no backup big sans the corpse of Biyombo available, this game is more in doubt than it should be. Spurs are wasting 3 roster spots (Ingram, Umude).

Agreed I feel Victor's defensive impact alone already makes him a top 5 player. He can literally shutdown opposing offenses with his defense. Even when Victor struggles offensively his defense can still win games.

Cooper will never be able to impact the game defensively on the level Victor can. He may become a better offensive player than Victor but I don't think the gap will be by that much. Victor's combined impact on the offensive end and defensive end I believe will be greater than what Cooper's combined impact is.

I was a bit worried about his injury. I didn't see Dylan on the bench for the OKC game (I wasn't watching that closely, though). Was he there? I thought he might still be out tonight. That makes me feel better if he plays.

He was on the bench last night tbh.

Don't want to jinx it, but with a win tonight against the mav's. we will have surpassed our 34 win total from last year - all before the all star game. Lets beat Flagg and the mav's . Go spurs go.

The Spurs' local broadcast architecture (high-brows here love to use that word) is pathetic.

I'm consigned to watching the Mavericks' broadcast on League Pass.

Get a decent arena.

Get a decent telecast.

Put some bodies in the lower bowl seats.

Please do something to support this emerging megateam.

Apparently Jeremy didn't travel with the team... read into that whatever you like.

Interested to see how post-trade deadline Barnes performs. Would be even more interesting if he wasn't starting. Is he still spacing the floor?

That's our best shooting and the worst perimeter defense lineup.

4000th regular season game for the Spurs.

I'm assuming it was a last minute decision to sit Castle out tonight cause no way he was benched for Barnes tbh. He's our only perimeter defender.
