Game Thread Spurs (33-16) vs Thunder (40-11) (Wed 2/04/26) [8:30 PM CST]

It's a completely inorganic streak. That's all I'm saying. If you're having to stat-pad late in 30-point blowouts just to keep that streak alive, then it's not an authentic streak. Sorry. It's completely manufactured. He was shamelessly chucking at the end on every possession trying to get it. Took 22 shots (35% from the field) to finally get his 20 then immediately subbed himself out of the game. And he's done this 3 or 4 times this season alone.
SGA is a superstar and super durable. He can do what he wants if he cares about that streak. Totally fine imo

The good news is that whatever the result we will stay 2nd in the west after Denver loss yesterday, it is really cool btw to see the Pistons on top of the east. How cool would be a Spurs / Pistons in finals one day ?

What ever happened to French Vanilla? It looked like a promising combo at the start of the year. I guess it only works with certain match ups
it's Mitch's panic line up. If he doesn't know what to do, he plays Wemby and Kornet together.

Glad to hear but also a future uncle Dennis?
Maybe, but it seems like the dads (or uncles) of players who have actually played in the NBA themselves seem to be a little more understanding of team dynamics and what it takes to build a winner. Of course, I'm sure he wants his son as part of a winning organization, so the Spurs' current trajectory helps. We'll see I suppose.

I'm all for Ron kicking Mitch out if he continues shitting the bed, tbh.

As for the game, the Spurs having so much time off could hurt them a little bit. Hopefully they don't come out flat. I'd love to see 4 full quarters from these guys instead of the 2 1/2 they've given us in so many games lately.

No 2005 stressed me out like crazy. We scraped by those finals by the skin of our teeth..
Yeah, thinking back on it, that was one of the most stressful finals/playoffs series I experienced since being a fan. I had more confidence against Miami going into both those finals series, but that Detroit series, it took almost everything the Spurs had to win it.
I don't know how fans did not like that type of basketball. It was super intense and exciting to me.

still a good memory and whatever is the opponent we would be stressed out anyway... Pistons is also very different nowadays and Pistons fans are cool, I would love it

I wont be able to see the game.. but hopefully the cliff jumping and Victor is overrated posts will stay under control :st-lol:

They look like future versions of themselves in 05 too 😳

Bleh, missing both Castle and Harper would be a huge blow. Not really trying to watch McLaughlin get 15+ minutes tonight :st-bang:

Adductor injuries are no joke, we shouldn't risk anything with Castle, especially since he already missed games because of it.
Sitting Harper out because of a non-existant ankle sprain would be dumb. It happened on a drive against the Magic, he was fine right away after.

Kelly O also ruled out tonight, I believe (which may be trade deadline related more than anything).

We really do need both Harper and Castle tonight, hopefully then can go.

2005 will always be a highlight for me as it was bloody intense. In that game 7 I was a basket case (pun intended), but that feeling when we won was sweet! I'm glad to see them killing it again. The music is always so much better in the Finals with them in it.
