Game Thread Spurs (15-7) @ Pelicans (3-21) (Mon 12/8/25) [7:00PM CDT]

I don't even know how you can spin this win into a positive. I know it sounds spoiled as shit. Let me check on reddit to see how the retards there are spinning this.
"Is this fan base new? Jesus Christ I watched us get bodied for 5 years straight by every team in the league. I saw Zaza ruin my hopes live. Sometimes you win close ones to teams it shouldn’t have been close with. Sometimes you’ve got injury’s you play through. Enjoy the ride. Jesus."

Most thought we’d barely have a winning record so let’s spare the melodrama. Wemby patrolling the middle makes this an entirely different game. They’d have been passing it out of the paint and bricking more 3s and long 2s with Wemby in there.

The thing that sticks out to me is Barnes and Vassell in the starting lineup. If that’s our fifth and sixth best players we need some more players. All due respect.

To be fair, even the sniffers over there on reddit said the win was embarrassing, which seemed like the majority of the posts in the Post Game thread.

Whoa! That's no way to talk to a fellow BaseLine Bum. I think you should apologize.

As long as we are playing better than .667 ball I don’t care if we beat the worst teams in the league by one point while blowing 80 point leads.
We need Wemby back. The longer this goes on the more warts will start to show on this team.

I think we ran into a bad matchup for Kornet mixed in with a rusty Castle while 3 of our stars were learning to play together for the first time. And Mitch got out coached a bit.

Can someone answer, was Castle in mins restriction or did he just suck? Numbers seem solid

I realize it ain't 2005 anymore and a 20 point lead isn't what it used to be, but this blowing leads is getting embarrassing. The Pels played confidently even when they were down because they knew damn well we would go through a drought like we always do.

Passive game from Fox, too. He should've been the best player on the floor tonight but he seemed disinterested.

Luke's sort of starting to look like a 3rd string center. Absolute idiocy for the Spurs to not try and draft Kalkbrenner or at least talk to Maxime about playing here.

I think Fox is just not very good at fitting in. I don't know. I think he tries to blend in, but it doesn't seem like he has a lot of impact if he's not aggressive.

Yeah I noticed he looked pretty awful tonight too. He was touted as a bench rim protector but I haven’t seen a ton of that yet. He has his moments but he was responsible for a lot of Dairy Queen’s buckets in the paint

His defense might be getting exposed a bit. We'll see. He just came back from an ankle injury, but it seems teams are scoring in the paint at will lately.

We can take another shot at that next draft replacing Biyombo.

I will say that the Pels actually have a pretty solid starting five, even without Zion and Dijon. Their bench is made up of YMCA stars but they’ve got a starting five of a .500 team. I really think I’d be less annoyed about this game if it were close the whole time 😂
