Carter was literal On-Ball Facilitation his entire Prep career, which was at an elite ranking vs California talent and only ended like 2 years ago. Converting him into a better shooting Draymond PF/C is wild to think but not outside the realm of his possibilities. It was still fucking crazy to see Carter leading half-court initiation and it going well. He even had a few dribble drives into the rotating space.

Gotta say I'm impressed by Scoot. I had no idea he'd improved this much. Maybe it's a short term thing, but hell he's playing great. I thought that if you blunted Deni, their offense would stall, but Jrue and Scoot are adding so much.

Hopefully Mitch figured things out with that attack with Harper leading and then Castle and then Fox taking over. That gave them fits.

Darn, I hope everything works out OK.

You can appreciate the metal toughness of Harper as he was jawing with the Blazers late last minute of 3rd qtr at free throw line and so on with Scoot later on in 4th qtr. Flashing the 3 sign with the Blazers!!

Harper was incredible. He was cool and under control with not many TOs.

Castle played well - had some plays not so great but he hit big shots as well and moved the ball.

Kornet - must give him props for his play . He has been great. Even hit a jumper (would like to see more). Good D. Worked his alley oop with our guards as usual! Kept some balls alive for 2nd chance pts (those were demoralizing and draining to the Blazers).

Carter Bryant provided some great interior defense and hit a couple of shots. Moved the ball around well. He just needs to stay confident and shoot his J and not hesitate when open. Definitely needs more PT.

Fox - used his quickness to shot his midrange shots in the paint, a strong point of his. Hit a couple of 3s but that is his weak point - he kills momentum when he comes down and jack up a quick 3.

The lineup above demoralized and frustrated the Blazers on offense and defense!!

Vassell and Champ hit some timely 3s in the game!

Props to Mitch for letting that lineup above work and not kill it too much with substitutions for the hit hand!

The Spurs are road warriors and are in the Blazers head and took their punch and punched back with 10-0 and 15-1 runs of their own after being down double digits in the first and 2nd half. Blazers came down to earth other than Holiday having a good game. Avdija was begging for fouls driving to the lane since he could not hit many 3s tonight.

Game 3 was a confidence one and the Spurs met the challenge!!! Portland will come out tomorrow playing desperate!

Hope your pop is ok. That was a stressful game to watch, felt like the Blazers were playing in a higher gear the entire way until that third quarter run culminating with a 1 point lead going into the fourth.

Dylan being the best catch and shoot option on the team now makes that lineup possible. As does Steph also greatly improving his catch and shoot three. This is eventually going to be the closing lineup so good to see them getting some positive experience together.

I know Castle's stats look great, but I thought that initially, the Blazers wanted to bait him into his heroballing/Westbrook mode - and it worked. I don't think it is a coincidence that the Spurs started getting back into this game in the second half when Castle was either sitting or taking a back seat offensively.
That being said, that was a gritty and gutsy win by our guys, with lots of people making valuable contributions (including, to be sure, Castle).
