I've always been a fan of Sochan despite his warts. He's the type of player archetype that can have a big impact on the team with the little things like defense, hustle, rebounding, and being a glue guy.

His 3 has looked much better this year and if that holds true then I'm really excited about his future with the team

Maybe it’s just me, but the shooting form still looks like ass imho. I’m happy it’s going in though.

I absolutely do not care at all if the form is good/picture perfect. It still looks a bit weird (not super smooth or anything, but looks very decent compared to what we've seen from him in the past), but if he or any other player can hit shots with consistency, the form doesn't matter too much to me.

The other aspect is being able to get the shot off under pressure, so even if the form isn't picture perfect, as long as they can get the shot off when there's defensive pressure (like he's likely to encounter in playoff games) with similar accuracy, I'm all cool with it. A big thing with Jeremy is also confidence. As long as he has confidence, that will go a long way too. If you don't shoot the ball with confidence, then it has no chance to go in regardless of the form used.

Rough shooting night for Sochan. But I like the fact that he took 5 attempts while missing them. Shooters shoot. That’s the correct mentality for him.

Game 11/20: 0 made threes on 5 attempts
Season total 7/18 just about 39%

At this point he is clearly a corner 3 with time on the clock guy. He looks most comfortable there but it also puts him out of position for a rebound or garbage bucket, which has been his specialty. The Hawks game had him outside of his normal spots and a couple of his attempts were late in the clock, well defended shots. But he has to keep shooting them and at a higher volume if he wants a spot on this team next year.

I was there last night and his shot is still broken. You can see things in person that you can't on TV. He's smoother than before and the rhythm is better (from nonexistent to decent) but he moves the ball across his face before release. The worst part though is that he still has sidespin. He's never going to even be an average shooter out there until he learns how the ball is supposed to come off his hand. It's maddening at this point. He should have learned that in 7th grade.

He’s a classic he’s in the NBA bc he’s 6’9 and semi athletic. Just wish he was more of a bruiser

You'd definitely get a better look in person. Not really the report I wanted to hear, but thanks anyway for your observations.

I know we're focused on his 3pt shooting, but his lack of inside presence is becoming concerning yet again.
In 21 minute played last night he had 0 contested shots and 0 box out according to NBA's official stats.
For comparison Barnes and Champ had 7 and 10 contested shots.

On the other end, everything about his offense is tragic.
He's obviously a player who gets most of his paint touches after either offensive rebounds or when he's wide open because he's the least threatening player on the floor opposing defense always helps off.
Or at least that should be the case in theory because Mitch is going back to point Sochan experiment.

Points per touch in the paint, without the Suns game since the stats aren't out yet and which will make Jeremy look even worse.
Fox: 1.429
Castle: 1.2
Keldon 1.1
Champ: 1
Bryant: 0.8
Barnes: 0.727
Sochan: 0.714

That's just unacceptable for someone with his shot diet and size.

As it is with Fox, Wemby being out could be a silver lining for the FO to open their eyes and make roster adjustments.

If he's not traded by the deadline I'm really worried about the incompetency of our FO

You think they'd be serious about trading him? It seems like from comments (unless it's BS) with Mitch saying he's going to be around for a very long time, they believe he still has potential. Hopefully it's just BS and they do look at trading him.

What can we even get for an expiring player we're not planning to extend?
Another reclamation project and a SRP or two, but we have plenty of those.

I'm, naively maybe, counting on the hype he still seems to have among league "observers", assuming some FO could still like his profile.

It should've been done earlier, for sure, but PATFO isn't known for its reactivity. I can't blame them tbh when 80% maybe more of the fanbase has been seing him as the core of the future for so long ^^

I don't think anything can happen without Klutch agreement. They're too powerful and it'd impact the future trades if Fox is traded without his consent.

I just have hope that common sense can prevail for both parties, the Spurs like Fox have all interest to find a more suited environment for the latter. with Castle being more and more obvious and Harper knocking at the door.

Fox got paid and I hope big picture it's the most important thing for him and Klutch.

As much as I hate Houston, it'd be, for example, a perfect solution for both parties, Fox is from that city and they have plenty of draft picks or young players with interesting potential.

Win - win
