NBA Official 2026 NBA Playoffs Thread

I understand it just fine thanks

The lakers having more fans than wolves is not a good explanation for why one team has better odds than the other to advance.

For one thing, betters aren’t just fans of the one team involved.

And if fans of a team delusionally bet on unwarranted success which adjusts the line, then sharps would just bet the other way and even it out
The Timberwolves and the Lakers are at about the same level, but the Lakers have way more fans which is why the line moves. This is a factor with large fan bases that the books account for.

OKC isn't even remotely at the same level. They're the runaway favorite to win the NBA Championship. The fact that you even brought up OKC means you don't fucking understand it. But again, you seem to be too stupid to understand what you don't understand, so you're going to persist.

Cleveland might be the most boring team in the playoffs. Sucks that Toronto is about to lose, I dont think they have the firepower to overcome this lead

LOL, are you 12 years old? Hilarious to see someone bring a 4th grade level of understanding on a subject and dare to call someone else stupid. Then again, you posted a GOAT list where you didn’t even have Lebron in your Top 11, which is a tell tale sign of a lack of critical thinking.

Lines don’t move because one team has more “fans” than an other… Vegas sets the lines where they estimate they’ll have equal action on both sides so that they balance each other out and the house just wins on the vig… but “fans” aren’t the heavy source of action, real betters (who try their best to not make stupid bets) are.

I normally let complete idiocy slide, but you floated right into the T Park zone of hubris: a mastery of the tone of authority without the inconvenience of logic or facts.

Wow, although a newbie but longtime stalker of this site and the original Spurs Talk (back in the hilarious Steve Nash 'Scream' meme days) it's rare that you rake over a poster this way although maybe deserved. Cudos to you and your fellow devolopers who have made this site such an easily accessible site without the detritus of the political diatribes of ST.

Again, i understand just fine. You can keep name calling but that’s not an argument

Can you demonstrate that the lakers to advance line has moved more than the wolves will advance line since the lines were set?

One of the things I love most about the NBA Playoffs is roleplayers seemingly out of nowhere having big games in elimination games - like Tobias Harris and J. Allen in the two Game 7s yesterday.
I wonder if there will be some shake-up happening in Orlando after yet another disappointing season (they were fine against the Pistons and somewhat redeemed themselves with that series). Quite a number of analysts advocate for trading Banchero and retooling around Wagner/Bane/Suggs plus maybe another star player (who might come over in a possible Banchero trade). I am skeptical about Banchero as well, but I really doubt the Magic will trade their number one pick and franchise player after he just dropped 30+ efficient points on the road in a Game 7.

Surely all the Laker fans putting dumb money on their team would have led to some easy bets against them since their lines got so inflated by hordes of dumb Laker fan money. like their regular season over/under. im sure so many dumb fans bet on the over that the line got inflated, making the under a great bet!
