NBA Official 2026 NBA Playoffs Thread

@Bruno Has been floating the idea of Fox to Houston for a deal centered around Jabari Smith.

I was never a big Jabari fan but I wouldnt hate it tbh. He's at least shown a little fight this series/season especially after KD literally called him retarded in the burner leaks :st-lol:

Elite size for the 4, good enough shooting and a semblance of secondary rim protection next to Victor.
Jabari and VanVleet combined for $1.2M less than Fox next yr, so that could be the basis. Upgrade the 4, make room for Harp, and still have a potentially quality vet backup on an expiring deal.
Or maybe Jabri + DFS and Capela but that's about $5M away. Those are 2 contracts Houston probably really wants to move off.

Houston's got a the Eason RFA decision to make and its hard to see them keeping Jabari and Eason without off-loading multiple other bigs. They've got 6 PF/Cs on multiyear contracts plus Eason.

If the Nuggets just wanted the clock run out, they could have done so themselves when they got the ball down 14 with 18 seconds left.

Instead Murray jacks up a 3. If they didn’t want to play on, they shouldn’t have played on
This makes things look quite different. Maybe McDaniels thought Murray was being lame. When you're down that far just dribble it out. Still making a lay-up was just a middle finger.
Investigation will be revealed tonight. Maybe both teams are suspended for eternity and forfeit the second round to Spurs...or maybe a few fines. I'm not seeing any suspensions for this stuff.

They already made their ruling. Jokic and Randle got fined and that was it.

This season just got done proving how valuable a 3 point of attack guard rotation can be… with and without injuries.

Fucking people still wanting to blow it up. 🤦

That's hilarious. So it literally still reads vicinity of the bench. So Amare and Diaw would have still been suspended because of the distance they traveled.

One thing's for sure, I was wrong. It's not remotely a black and white rule, before or after the change.

Shoutout to George Hill. He won that Game 4 for us in that series with his 29 points. The big 3 had nothing going offensively in that game. Spurs went up 3-1 and allowed us the close them out in 6. One of my favorite games of all time.
Hill was big in that game and the series because defensively he was able to shut down Jason Terry who had been a thorn for the Spurs in '06 and '09. I enjoyed Terry's tears after that series when he was so demoralized after losing that he said that him and the Mavericks were failures lol.

They called Flagg generational.
Some dude named Nipples almost took his ROY.

I doubt the Rockets threw a season with 37 year old Durant in the garbage to wait for Van Vleet to return only to move on from him immediately and if they were open to that, a minus shooting 30% 4 year max for a fringe All-Star doesn't seem like who it'd be for.

And not to say the Spurs wouldn't do this hypothetical, but Smith Jr. isn't their preferred big wing PF nor does he have the strength to guard C's, so while he'd balance them more, he also wouldn't solve much all the same.

As far as ROY, of course Flagg won. It's almost like media predetermined it before the season so long as he played 60 + games.

Which rotation is better, in your opinion?

A)

starters: Fox, Castle, Vassell, Champagnie, Wemby

Bench: Harper, Keldon, Barnes, Bryant Kornet

Or

B)

starters: Harper, Castle, Vassell, Durant, Wemby

bench: Jones-García, Champagnie, Keldon, Bryant, Kornet

To me it's pretty clear, tbh.

Game isn't played on paper. Young talent is too good and far along and chemistry is too strong to even consider Durant at this point.

When Fox is traded, it won't be for another star since they have their three high usage players in place already.

That's exactly why I think Durant would be in his best behaviour if he came to San Antonio. He already saw how good this team gets along on and off the court, it would be his last shot at redemption.

Also, if KD ends up being as big of a locker room cancer as everybody seems to suggest, the group is strong enough to not be contaminated by him. You just trade him mid-season and problem solved.

Detroit down 8-0 out of the gates in Orlando. They’re cooked if they lose this one. They’re not coming back from a 3-1 deficit to this Magic team that’s suddenly playing with confidence.

It’s early but Magic are a tough matchup for them. A lot of teams were going to exploit the Pistons lack of offense(lack of a true 2nd option). And I had the Magic top 3 in my eastern conference preseason rankings. They’re not a real 8 seed when healthy and clicking.

Feel bad for Knueppel. That late season slump and play-in performance killed him while Flagg was racking up empty stats by admission of Kidd who said they were gearing everything for him to get ROTY.

Would be really curious how many votes changed during the play-in, as ballots were still out due to waiting on the Cade/Luka/Ant appeals. We already know one voter said he changed his 6MOY vote because of the play-in... the league should have done something to require the votes not relevant to Cade/Luka/Ant be in earlier...

Amazing how Detroit retook control of this game when it looked like they were going to get curb stomped.

Durant isn’t even playing right now and his teammates seem clueless as to what his status is.

KD is a cancer. He skills don’t live in a vacuum. He’s also old.

The greatest strength of our team is their chemistry and how invested they are in each other’s success and lives. It translates to selflessness on the court and team chemistry.
