NBA Official 2026 NBA Playoffs Thread

I think Gobert gets saved because he was actually trying to break it up.

The biggest culprit is Joker tbh. I mean it’s Jaden but he didnt do anything illegal in the rules.

It’s a bunch of nothing. This is the kind of crap that would make the haters call the league soft all over again. Hand out some fines and that’s it.

Nope 298 teams have been in a 3-1 situation in the NBA playoffs.
285 have gone on to win at 95.6%
13 have recovered at 4.4 %
You might be thinking of all sports, which might be 61%, but not in the NBA playoffs.
I am telling about the vegas odds.

They still have den 39% to win the series

If the NBA suspends Gobert, they ought suspend Jokic too for the sake of parity.

Yeah, it's illustrative here. Shaq is a total dumb fuck but Barkley is a guy who is very tuned into how this stuff works.

Shaq would want to embarrass their opponent at their home in front of their family, in front of their mom, their girlfriend 🤣

Why did mcdaniels still scored that lay up when the game is already over in the first place.? Very unsportsman like move.

Why? Only one of them violated the rule. It doesn't matter if you step on the court to try to break it up. The rule is that you don't step on the court. Patrick Ewing got suspended from a game for stepping over the line. The precedent has been set. If you step over the line, it's an automatic suspension. If the NBA doesn't suspend anybody that violated that rule, then they're spitting in the face of all the other guys that got suspended for that rule, including Boris Diaw.

Conversations about unspoken rules are pointless. There are people who get it, who are the people who are actually involved, and there are people like you. I'm not saying Joker acted appropriately, but McDaniels did it deliberately and they all know it.
The best way to stop him would be to win the game. Winning feels good and losing feels bad. If Jokic doesn't like opponents scoring on his basket, he should take care of that problem within the game itself rather than adding an extra layer of morality outside of it.

Use it as motivation to do better next time.

from what I recalled:
1) the stay on your bench rule was put in place after a suns Knicks brawl, if I remembered correctly.
2) Rudy T was cited as the reason that even if you are a peacemaker you put yourself in danger. Odd incident to cite as it happens more than a decade when the rule was implemented. But it may have been from the media, don’t remember exactly.
3) Ewing stepped on the line in a game vs Miami. Argument that him stepping over the line didn’t put anyone in danger. Ewing was still suspended but rule was updated to vicinity of bench area.
4) Horry check happened and those fairy suns loving media were crying a river. Stern told them to shove it. Nothing was updated.

I’d be disappointed if gobert isn’t suspended in this. He clearly broke the rule which was in place for 33 years, updated almost 30 years ago, tested almost 20 years ago, and upheld with no exceptions throughout. If there’s anyone to blame it’s gobert being stupid and the wolves staff not keeping players in check. Btw I don’t hate gobert, I’ve never understood the hate for him and felt he has been unfairly criticized.

Jokic rushed over, but I don’t see him starting the scrum, mcdaniels pulled his jersey first.

Randle most definitely escalated this crap.

I’ve always found it a bit cringe when players over react when the opponent scores at the end of games.

Murray had the ball the possession before McDaniels and he could have dribbled out the clock instead he shot a 3 with 14 seconds left.

So the team losing allowed to get a cheap bucket while the other team isn’t.

Hyland, Gordon and Valanciunas also left their bench. If NBA suspend Gobert, they should also be suspended.

No wonder Wemby said (in his interview with Malika Andrews before the all star weekend) that he think Joker is only the best offensive player (not the best player). Joker just offer no defensive pressure at all

Watching it as it happened, it really looked like Jokic was just trying to come up with something to fire up his team, which is... really, really embarrassing for a player of his caliber.

I think Jokic pushed Mcdaniels towards Min bench.

Its not like incident happened on the other side of court and Rudy has left his bench. Rudy was on sideline when he tried to stop it.

After that he stepped on to court just as a viewer and not to fight.

The argument for suspending Rudy is fucking stupid. He clearly wanted to de-escalate. If you’re enforcing a rule meant to de-escalate a fight by suspending someone who may have technically broken it to de-escalate a fight, then it’s a stupid rule that shouldn’t be enforced.

If you suspend Rudy, then why not also Jokic. He went out of his way to confront McDaniels for doing the most basic thing in the sport - putting the ball in the basket. Maybe that’s a bad look, but Jokic ran cross court and put hands on McDaniels. That’s way more severe than what Rudy did.
