NBA Official 2026 NBA Playoffs Thread

the dubs were running out of steam when Klay started declining, and their decision to keep trying to get more vets like Butler/Horford/KP instead of rebuilding will always be questionable. yes, you could argue that this year's version of the team with a healthy Butler would have been great (and Curry himself barely played half the season), but thats part and parcel of building a team very reliant on old guys
The Warriors didn't really commit one way or the other and got stuck in a middle ground where they couldn't rebuild and couldn't be a title contender either. I get not blowing it up when you have a guy like Curry who the franchise isn't likely to sniff a comparable talent to for decades. But they really should have thrown caution to the wind and given up their post Curry lottery picks to put a supporting cast around Steph once Klay aged out of the role. I'll never understand them not trading for Markannen for example.

Didnt they deem Podz untouchable in the Lauri talks? :st-lol:

They were unwilling to give up unprotected post Curry firsts and swaps, which was the whole reason Utah would have wanted to make that trade. So yeah pretty unserious offer when they wouldn't give Podz either and tried to make Utah take a couple of late 20s firsts and swaps plus Kuminga and Moody.

Rolling Curry out for 41 home games plus 25 road games wouldn't be a bad business model, even if they aren't competitive. Maybe that's the way they go.

Yes, our Championship teams were awesome, and would smoke these two teams. Hence, if we can’t beat both these teams we are far away from winning a championship, and would convince me let Castle or Harper loose for Giannis.

Stop with the Giannis talk already. It’s never going to happen, especially breaking up our young core who have opportunities to play together for 10-15 years. An already a championship caliber, It’s going to small tweaks from here, fortifying the bigs with backup, and possible replacements for Kornet, Barnes down the road, more shooting defensive wings who a team can never have enough of… but no seismic move like a trade for a Giannis or other big names. The Spurs already has its core and it’s clicking. It’s just tweaking from here on to sustain

lakers should strategically drag the series to 7 games to maxmize chance of luka being ready for game 1 vs okc

Winning 62 games and then losing to Denver or Minnesota in the 2nd round is not clicking. That's broken.

Giannis is already breaking down and the history of how athleticism dependent bigs age past 32 is pretty ugly outside maybe Olajuwon. Also don't want him taking touches from Wemby since Victor has a way higher ceiling and needs to be developed as option #1. Spurs core looks like it's going to be better than OKC's and we were penciling them in as the next dynasty before the Spurs got Castle and Harper.

Spurs did upgrades everywhere to their team from 2011 while the Grizzlies got rid of their Spurs killers from 2011 (Battier, Vasquez, Mayo).
Boy did that bite us in the ass when that fucker went 6-7 from the three point line in Game 7 of the 2013 Finals. :st-flipoff:

Exactly what the suns thought when they traded for shaq.

Rockets getting murdered by OKC is like whatever, but having them beat the Lakers down over and over again would be glorious.

I just hope I'm recovered from laughing at the Rockets blowing this series by that point tbh.

What for? They ain't really going to do anything in this postseason, with or without Luka. The roster is just not good enough. Weird how LA wasted one of the best RS performances from Luka in his prime even before his latest injury.
