NBA Official 2026 NBA Playoffs Thread

Yeah, pretty much. They had their chance to replenish and managed to whiff on Wiseman, Kuminga, and to a lesser extent Moody.

It's kind of bittersweet to see Curry near the end. I like him more than guys like Durant and the unwatchable Harden. He's legitimately great, though his teams were a pain in the ass. Far better than the fugazy Shai.

I will give Curry his credit that he is an all time great somewhere between 11-25 on the all time list but I definitely don't feel bad for him going out the way he's going out. Despite his greatness to me he was mostly a frontrunner like the rest of the guys from his generation ala Lebron, Durant. When the the deck wasn't stacked in his favor he usually didn't come through. I don't think he ends up with 4 titles if Durant doesn't come to save him after that humiliating loss to Lebron. I know some people will bring up '22 but I don't think '22 can't happen without Durant allowing him and the rest of the Warriors to recover from that humiliating debacle against the Cav's in '16. They desperately needed that mental reset in the worst way and Durant gave it to them.

Plus I always found his showboating annoying along with his paring up with Draymond. You don't get Curry without having to deal with his goon Draymond. On a sidenote I will never forget his bitch ass face lighting up the moment Zaza took out Kawhi. Prior to that play he looked deflated and suddenly he had the look of a kid on Xmas morning getting ready to open up presents the moment Kawhi got taken out. On top that at the end of the game him saying the Warriors would have still won had Kawhi not gotten hurt rubbed me the wrong way because I could sense he was lying and he even knew they would have lost that game without that injury happening. You can say I'm a hater but fuck him and the Warriors.

Just one of the SoCal radio talking heads but they think Lebron will go to the Golden Flamers on a discounted deal.
That's def an option. Both Bron and Steph have been open in the past about wanting to play together. It'd be weird having overlapping retirement tours though. Would they really want the other guy stealing their spotlight as they bid farewell to basketball? Feels like that'd be something they want to themselves. Maybe they're cool with it though. Who knows. Time will tell.

Eh I’m not sure how you can label him a front runner. It’s not his or the Warriors fault that Durant is a beta loser that decided to sign with him. What were they supposed to say…No to a top 5 player in his prime coming to join them?

The Warriors were an absolute garbage franchise before Curry came along and he’s stayed with them his entire career. You can be annoyed at the shimmys but that’s just Spurfan expecting everybody to be boring ass Timmy tbh.

Curry’s impact on the game is probably second to only Jordan in the last 40 years tbh and his legacy is set in stone no matter how he goes out these next few years.

Warriors should go full Wild Hogs.

Steph
Draymond
Bron
Al Horford
Jimmy
Lowry
Mike Conley
Brook Lopez
Kevin Love
Demar
Plumdog Millionaire
and maybe they can talk K Love into one more ride
That team prolly makes the play-in either load managing everyone all season or limping in after half the team suffers season-ending injuries tbh.

1. Your coming up with revisionist history since your only telling half of the story. Draymond and Curry begged Durant to sign with them. They cried like bitches after they lost in the '16 finals and begged him to join them. That doesn't make Durant any better since he decided to take their invitation and not compete. Based on that I will say they are all frontrunners.

2. That's a pretty retarded take by you considering I have no problems with Victor, Castle, Keldon, celebrating after they score baskets. I don't know why you would make that assumption that I expect every player to be like Duncan simply because I didn't like Curry's celebrations. Curry's celebration were obnoxious there was no player I have every seen who overdid the celebrations after hitting shots like Curry did in the 35 years I have been watching the NBA and I'm not talking about celebrating after hitting game winning shots. I'm talking about hitting a 3 in the first minute of the game and celebrating wildly doing that stupid shimmy. Name me a guy who overdid it like Curry?

3. Do you lack reading comprehension? I did say Curry was somewhere ranked in my eyes 11-25 on the all time great list. I never disputed his greatness. Either way I don't give fuck what people say about him after he's retired. Once a player I despise no longer plays I take joy in not having to see him play again much like I enjoyed not seeing Karl Malone play ever again after he retired.

You’re upset, it’s okay. Hopefully nobody shimmies in your general vicinity as that seems to be very triggering for you tbh.

agree

Curry edges Durant for me because of the '22 title.

Both of them are two of the greatest 15-20 players to ever touch a ball. Their legacies are forever going to be intertwined because of KD's decision.

If Durant like, beats OKC in the semis this season with Houston then that would be enough for me to potentially open the convo again.

I think Durant is trending towards underrated. He just broke the top 5 in all-time scoring. He dragged the US to a gold in Tokyo with dick help. His career has been marred by injuries to himself or teammates outside of the b2b in GS. '13 and '15 got wasted in his prime. '19 he got hurt when he could have three-peated. '21 Giannis broke Kyrie's ankle.

It feels like Curry has had better luck along the way. Like LeBron's teammates dying in the '15 Finals.

Curry is the better player in my book but it's close.

All that to say - fuck the Ws - Curry isn't that special, he's sitting backseat with his buddy KD with LeBron driving.

Don't get me started on Kawhi.

I’m happy to see Curry go. Don’t get me wrong. He’s one of the greatest, the only few who changed how the game of basketball was played. But I’m more of a Timmy fan, so I need to see competition to Timmy’s legacy go down. I’d put Curry top 5 with MJ, Timmy, Magic and Kareem.

:st-lol: Curry isn't top 10, much less top 5.

In no particular order (other than eras):

Russell
Wilt
KAJ
Magic
Bird
Jordan
Hakeem
Shaq
Duncan
Kirby
LeBron

Are all decidedly better than him tbh. Would also add Moses but that's more debatable. Could also maybe see him above Kirby but I'll give him the nod since he was an elite defender at one point.

Curry is easily over Shaq, Wilt, and Hakeem. I’d argue he’s over Kirby too… :st-stirthepot:

I’m stepping up to the plate, pointing to the stands, and calling my shot right now.

Steve Kerr — the TOS lover, dynasty drainer, culture tax collector — is going to resign and slide straight into a media job. Steph is going to finish out his Warriors contract like the consummate professional he is… and then?

He’s signing with Charlotte.

Yes. Charlotte.

Who else is better equipped to calm down the "idiot ball" on a mega talented young team than Wardell Stephen Curry II? He’ll do it for a song, for the minimum, for the hometown discount of all hometown discounts — as long as they hire Kerr and fire yet another young Black coach to make room for him.

And the kicker?
He’ll take down his dad’s retired number, wear it as tribute, and turn the whole thing into a merch supernova.

To quote a great heavyweight champion:

“What you understood doesn’t need to be said.”

So tell me y'all.

When Steph pulls off this LeBron‑era, player‑empowerment, myth‑making, hometown‑savior arc…

Where does he land on your all‑time list?

Well I would have much more enjoyed watching Curry with his antics than Brooks with his, but that is not to be.

I was also glad to see LaMelo get comeuppance and I'm not thinking about the $35k fine, which would be a lot for me. For him it was just an encouragement.

I'm mainly interested in one first round series...ours. I will be checking out others. It's good time for basketball.

Go Spurs Go!! :st-flag:

I see you have gone the projecting route since you were triggered by my initial post judging by how you threw a baseless accusation against me.

I think it's very close with Durant and Curry. People will mostly give him the edge against Durant since he got '22 title but I definitely feel Durant was the best on both of those Warrior title teams. As a whole the generation of Lebron, Durant, Curry to me was the least competitive generation of ballers I have seen with how they all formed super teams. It seems like the current generation of champions of SGA, Jokic, Tatum and Brown are trending in the opposite direction which is good. Hopefully it stays like that because the game is more fun when it's competitive with the best competing against each other instead of joining forces.
