Luxury tax is at $201M, 1st Apron at $209M, 2nd Apron at $222M.
Losing JDub and KWill gets them to just around $202M, and they can tear up Dort's salary and sign him to a lower salary next season and make it up to him later. That said, if Sorber is ready to contribute next season I could see them flipping iHart since that expiring salary would be attractive in a trade.

Two teams that could trade for JDub using cap space... Lakers and Bulls. And honestly it would make a lot of sense for both.

Don't know who is going to want J-Dub on a max deal coming off wrist and hamstring injuries. Thunder might have to attach some picks to get rid of him.

They have plenty of ammunition to do it if that's the case tbh.
There will be teams wanting to take him on imo, depending on physicals. The dude looked like a top 15 player in the league a season ago. Only reason OKC will look to move him is due to the continued emergence of Mitchell and salary cap issues; Spurs need to pay attention to how OKC handles it this Summer since they'll be in the same position in two years.

I can't see OKC bailing on J-Will already after one injury-riddled season. He'd have to be REALLY bad in the Playoffs for them to even consider it imo. His 5-yr Rookie Max Extension hasn't even kicked in yet lol. If he plays well in the Playoffs this will all be forgotten tbh.

JDub with Luka and Reaves (plus some actual legit bigs) would make the Lakers a legit contender. That said, think OKC would send JDub to the Bulls since their picks are more attractive.

It's just the realities of the new CBA tbh. Spurs very well may face the same issue with Castle and Harper. You can't have three max contracts and depth on your roster.

OKC's issue is that Hartenstein/Caruso/Dort combine for 25% of the cap, not that star players make max money.
I mean it's not even an issue because it was short term overpay by design, they never expected to keep Hartenstein or Caruso for long.

Easier said than done tbh. Even Presti with a giant war chest has nailed only a handful of picks.
He's really good at cast off and marginal talent. J Will was a homerun but I think he took Ousmane Dieng first. Holmgren was an obvious pick. Shai was outright given to them.

and then theres Jaylin Williams, Aaron Wiggins, Isaiah Joe, Ajay Mitchell... Josh Giddey which was flipped into Alex Caruso

Confusing post. You're talking about Joey Crawford not Jamal Crawford, correct? Jamal Crawford is the one in the announcing team..
I'm completely tripping. Of course it was the announcers. Thanks for correcting me...thought I was having a flashback!

Spurs are fortunate in not having to pay a 35% max like OKC has to with SGA. Wemby won't be eligible for that until the 2030-31 season at the earliest.

Dumbass needs to look at his coaching staff like that. Their defensive communication on the perimeter was pure shit and cost them the game. They ran drop coverage on the PnR with Steph Curry. They refused to switch guard to guard picks. They would have 2 players picking up the same offensive player coming up the court leaving a shooter wide open many times.

Just horrific shit defensive principles and communication.
