NBA Official 2026 NBA Playoffs Thread

They tried to throw that game. It's not their fault our rotation guys were getting curb stomped by Julian Strawther and David Roddy tbh :st-lol:

True....they did rest all the starters and only played Joker 18min (for his 65 game requirement).

Whereas Spurs tried to play full squad (less Wemby + Korndog) and still lost to Nugget B squad (with 18 min of Joker)

They obviously are very confident against us and that should motivate us. If we are healthy, come out guns blazing at Home in the first game. That’s what I expect.

I just hope that motivation can last through potentially two back-to-back 7 games series against Denver and OKC.

With Jok out and when Vassell got that dunk to cut the lead to 10 I thought OK we got this. 30 seconds later Denver went on a 5-0 run.

If healthy For a team this young, I don’t accept energy and motivation as an excuse. All the star players on this team are in their early 20s. Fox is 28.

Maybe im the only one, but i don't think OKC repeat, they are good , but i see us or Denver winning the west tbh

In the East Boston have to be the favorites, more so for the coaching

OKC's easy path to the finals just make them the favorite to repeat.

In this fast pace motion offense era, we can't underestimate the injuries due to heavy minutes....

Just hope that there is enough rest between the playoff games and Mitch can manage the minutes well.

I recall that the 2008 Celtics somehow survived 7 games series back-to-back-to-back in the Eastern Conference and beat LAL in 6 in the finals. Doable but will be tough in this current fast pace motion offense era

A week ago I wanted them to get a trial by fire. They're gonna get that and then some tbh. :st-lol:

Go Spurs Go :alien:

Right now i don't trust anything about that Denver series other than Wemby's will to win..

That Denver and Minnesota series is going to be good. People assume too much that Denver is going to make it out of that series. Yes they're the favorites but we'll see.

Denver has just looked so much better over the last month and a half or so. They're 17-5 since March and on a 12-game winning streak to close out the year, meanwhile Minnesota is 12-10 since March.

I agree that Minnesota still has a chance, but Denver should be fairly clear favorites with HCA. I'd be pretty shocked if Minnesota takes them down but I'd love to be proven wrong.

On a side note: even if I think our chances at making the WCF and beyond went down noticeably with last night's loss, I think we should all be pretty excited about a potential Wemby/Jokic duel in the 2nd round. That has the makings to be a historical series with Jokic proving that Wemby still isn't quite there, or on the flip side, Wemby solidifying that he's arrived and absolutely deserves to be in the conversation as best player in the world. Even if the outcome isn't what we want, at the least it will be a massive growing opportunity for Wemby. Dueling against one of the greatest big men of all-time for an entire playoff series will be legendary shit. Arguably the greatest offensive center of all-time vs. the potential greatest defensive center of all-time...hard to not get excited about that.

Now i just wanna see jokic win 3 consecutive 7 games series and sweep the east team. Would be the greatest FUcK YOU im the greatest run ever.

I can see them as favorites, but not by much in my opinion, the west is gonna be hard this year for everyone

Please NO i like Jokic, but his fans will be even more insuferable jaja

I've seen Nuggets fans be overly confident about that matchup for a while this year. IDK, Minny looks like they'll be relatively healthy by the time Game 1 kicks off so it'll be interesting. The Ant knee stuff is worrisome though.

im over the loss now and hyped af
this is the start of next gen Spurs/Wemby era

as a basketball fan, excited to see wolves/nuggets and knicks/hawks in the first rd

I think the spurs match up better with Denver than Minnesota. The wolves’ multiple double big lineups kill us. We don’t have anyone that can guard Randle. When he’s paired up with Reid, it’s trouble for San Antonio

That last loss against DEN did not faze me one bit.
This team's got it.
They've overcome innumerable question marks this season I just got a feeling this playoffs is gonna be one of the ages.

Trust me, bro.
I'm 1-0 in the gamethread standings.

Sucks the first game isn't til 8pm on Sunday. Gonna be a long ass week tbh. At least we'll get some Play-In games to tie us over starting on Tuesday.

Sucks for us, but let's get as much rest as humanly possible here. I will make the sacrifice for my spurs.

I think logically you're probably right, but every bone in my body has wanted to avoid the Nuggets as much as possible. We just seem to have a mental block against that team and they are also built to matchup against us well, and on a tear recently. And when push comes to shove and the margins are narrow, I don't wanna see the best player in the world on the other side of the court.

Fret not, Wemby will always be on our side of the court. :st-afro:

that's what I have been telling people. the wolves almost swept the spurs and present several problems for the spurs (and Denver). they also have been to the conference finals two years in a row and Ant Man delivers in the playoffs. minnesota is not going to be an easy out for anyone. so, tbh, there really wasn't going to be an easy path for the spurs. it's time to see what they're made of.
