Why?

To not get any more momentum going into next season. There's a chance that, if they lose badly in the first round, next season the Hawks go back to being mediocre to bad. If they win a playoffs round and prove they are more than a hot streak, those chances decrease dramatically, imho.

I don't see it, but okay.

They're getting a Top 10 pick to add to this team either way. They'll likely be as good or better next season and we'll get a pick in the balk half of the round. Not the end of the world.
