NBA Official 2026 NBA Playoffs Thread

Long gone are the days of the Spurs being underrated or under-discussed by the media tbh :st-lol:

I don’t hate it though. And realistically the Spurs have been the best team in the league for the past 2 and a half months…so I don’t think it’s ridiculous to predict them to win it all even if OKC’s overall record and net rating point to them being better by a decent margin.

Makes me antsy that we won't live up to the hype :st-lol: This is why I'm still seething about that Denver loss. Losing to OKC in WCF would have been the expected ceiling in relation to our seeding..

San Antonio Spurs Champions!! :vic-cheers:

I see some of the doom and gloom around here. I’m personally excited and can’t wait see what the Spurs do in the playoffs. Win or lose I’m enjoying the process. We are watching a young team grow up and start to figure it out in real time. That in itself is pretty cool to me.
I'm trying to keep my perspective in check with my expectations to begin the season. Obviously, this regular season has far exceeded any expectations I had, so it's all gravy from here.

My preseason prediction was a first-round exit. Given the Spurs' record and the momentum they have going into the playoffs (despite the last game), losing in the first round would be disappointing..but it could still happen.

Part of me says the Spurs are playing with house money because no one expected them to be here yet. But it's also important that they seize every opportunity which comes their way.

Nick Wright and JT still kicking Spurs for losing the last game to Denver.

It makes no sense to rest Wemby for 1 game when there is a 1 week rest period prior to start of playoffs, just to trade for 6 or 7 gruelling games against Denver in 2nd round and another 7 gruelling games against OKC in WCF. Also, this made OKC path having the easiest path to the WCF. A big swing tbh

This is just talking head news cycle bullshit that is completely distant and oblivious to how things work in a locker room and coaches meetings.

Championship caliber teams don't try to manipulate brackets to get an easier path to the playoffs or make things tougher for an opponent they wouldn't see for two more rounds. They don't put that idea into their players' heads. You go into the Playoffs unafraid of any opponent, focused on the upcoming round. Period.

Wemby had 65 games under his belt and sore ribs. The 2 seed was locked. The right basketball move is to rest him.

Are we really going to be talking about this for the next month?

People here are still bitching about this. The nuggets game thread had people slitting their wrists :st-lol:

I’m assuming Zion is #1?
It's hilarious to think of Zion, and then figure out why he isn't on the list...

"It's Zion, right..."

"No... his team has had a few playoff appearances..."

"Oh wait but he didn't play in any of them... so it must be Zion"

"Oh no, it's because he's played in less than half of his teams game during his career"

Okay, I'll have a go at predicting:

Play-in
76ers over Magic
Heat over Hornets
Heat over Magic

Suns over Blazers
Clippers over GSW
Blazers over Clippers

1st round
Pistons over Heat in 6
Celtics over 76ers in 5
Knicks over Hawks in 5
Cavs over Raptors in 5

OKC over Blazers in 4
Spurs over Suns in 6
Nuggets over Wolves in 5
Rockets over Lakers in 5

2nd round (Conference Semi Finals)
Cavs over Pistons in 6
Celtics over Knicks in 7

OKC over Rockets in 5
Nuggets over Spurs in 6

3rd round (Conference Finals)
Celtics over Cavs in 6
Nuggets over OKC in 7

Finals
Nuggets over Celtics in 6

We just need to kick Denver's ass....then on to OKC. Don't know who he have in the first round. I'll be rooting for Blazers, though everyone is picking the Suns.
