NBA Official 2026 NBA Playoffs Thread

I do not seeing the Nuggets trading Murray or Jokić. Gordon is going to be bad goods to most teams and he’s been injured off & on the last couple years. I don’t see anybody biting on Braun. The are in a tough place. If I was them, I’d run it back and pick up a couple cheap free agents who have potential. THJ was great for them this year.

A couple of years ago he was teetering on being the best player in the NBA and he just hasn't been able to put it together since then and I don't think it's for any other reason than he just can't get healthy.
He was being talked about like that in the 2024 playoffs when they made the WCF then Doncic kicked his teeth in and showed his ass and he's never been talked about the same since.

Yeah, I agree. The Spurs had some injuries but Gordon & Watson were out this series basically. I do remember Gary Neil hit a buzzer beater in Grizz series. Ha. I do have to admit Ginobiliiiii is my favorite player of all time. Should’ve won that finals MVP versus the Pistons.

I standby this doesn’t alter Joker’s legacy. I am not a Jokic fan but the dude is pretty amazing. He was not as good the series. They had injuries plus Murray was terrible in gm 6 as well. Minnesota plays scrappy as hell.
I mean I’m a Joker fan. And this was a really bad series from him. Made Ayo and Shannon Jr look like prime DWade with how easy they scoring at the rim.

Cherry on top is that either the Lakers or Rockets are getting knocked out by the end of the week too
:st-lol:

What a wast for Denver. This team has so much talent and they lost like that...

Two areas where they really need to improve are:
- Injury management: Watson, Gordon and Jokic injuries seemed to have been mismanaged this season.
- Defense: they don't have a roster that is build to be dominant defensively but they should be way better. They at least need a new assistant coach in charge of that or they need to replace their head coach.

I'm not sure what kind of change they can make roster wise. They are in a tough situation luxury tax wise especially if they keep Watson.

Even as a fan, shit was getting of hand with his placement among the pantheon of all-time greats from prominent voices like Lowe, Simmons, SVG. The playoffs track record is officially spooky after this embarrassing series loss. This what I pointed to @DTW the other day. Jokic is going to need another impressive title run to justify those lofty proclamations. He and Denver were being sized up as if they were on the cusp of a dynasty.

Adelman's replacements? You gotta go with experience with bit of emphasis on defense, but also someone with a locker-room weight/presence. Jokic has no time to waste

Thibs, Stotts, Vogel comes to mind.

Vogel is an outstanding and has elevated every team he's coached

suns dumped him after 1 year and then got even worse

Said all along it was a bigger mistake that Denver won than the spurs losing the last game. Minny was built to beat Denver. Their GM has said in the past that was their blueprint. Denver should have been tanking the last week of the season not just the last couple games to drop to the 4/5. I bet the Spurs felt it was better to have Minny/Denver beat each other up than have Minny stomp the Luka less Lakers and come in fresh.
B-but the Coach sucks and we should trade Mitch, and these guys are bums for losing that game to Denver

Yeah, i don't think you can go 'rookie coach' path again if you are Denver. Clock is officially ticking on the Jokic window.

Same and this was a bad look...really bad. You're telling me Joker and Murray can't beat a Wolves team with no Ant in an elimination game?

Feels like Joker was tired of fucking with basketball this season and was ready to go hang out with his horses.

murray absolutely shit the bed, they were only hanging on cause cam johnson was 5/5 in the first half.

Shit...now I'm kinda scared of the wolves tbh :st-lol:
Not gonna lie, I'm both impressed and spooked by how hard and tough they play. :st-lol: Could have easily packed it in and blamed injuries. They were even making a mini comeback late in Game 5. That's when I knew they were indeed going to close out Denver at home even with skeleton crew rotation.

Damn, I have to watch the full game, didn't expect this outcome.

Anyhow:

The prime of the two best players post the Lebron/KD/Curry generation is on course to be a massive underachievement. It is not just the rings; but the lack of consecutive deep playoffs runs (Conference Finals/Finals) in what should be the prime age seasons (25-32) is what sticks out to me.
