Trade Official 2025-2026 Trade Deadline Thread

I know Giannis is the obvious player that the Wolves want, but I wonder if Morant could also be in play.

Laurie and JJJ both with big contracts. Neither you really build around. Could be problematic in the long-term but I imagine Hardy will have them playing team ball.

But I don't see this as a total home run for Ainge. Still more pieces needed.

Or maybe I just hate Ainge and still recall with fondness when Sedale Threatt punched Ainge and the world made sense.

So it is a firesale in Memphis. Kinda like it for Jazz despite the big money. Free agency is dead; you're only getting talent through trades and Utah were never a destination to begin with..

They may not be a future contender, but Will Hardy will get them to perennial 6th-8th seed in the West. And that's fine outcome for that market
That's actual exceptionally bad seeing as how the whole reason they traded Conley, Gobert, and Mitchell, is because they were tired of losing in the second round. Years later they have 2 lesser players, useless picks, and a team that probably can't rise above the play in unless another team or two gets injuries. And aint no way Jaren Jackson staying there a second longer than he has to :st-rollin:

Utah a cautionary tale of when blowing it up goes wrong.

I really don't like the trade for Utah, but see the thought process. Lauri and JJJ are so uni-dimensional as players, but it might work. They have talent, at least. If they can land a star in the draft, maybe they can get rolling. They have some good players. But those combined salaries are yikes, and they're not guys who are close to playoff star contention on their own.

they were. the light years comment was made a decade ago when they were 68-7. they have won 3 titles since that comment
not really. They lost the final that year. Won 2 after. Lost in the finals again, KD gone. Then tanked due to injuries and drafted Wiseman with the 2 pick. 8th seed. Lucky chip with Poole. Draymond knocks Poole out. Klay gone. Never saw the WCF again after that. Hovered around 6 to 10th seed ever since.

they were reigning champions about to set the wins record when the comment was made, when their big 3 home grown players were all 27 or younger. while they lost in the finals that year, they then won back to back. they probably would have won more if not for absurd injury luck

not only did KD tear his achilles in the 2019 finals, but klay also tore his ACL and missed the entire 19-20 season. and then curry only played 5 games in the 19-20 season. then klay also missed the entire 20-21 season with a torn achilles

then in the very next year they went on to win the title again. so the first time they were somewhat healthy after the durant/klay injuries, they rang, 6 years after the light speed comment. he was right

Yeah but they also faced a slew of injured teams on their way to the first couple of titles. So it evened out in the end

One thing is for sure, play-in race won be a thing this season.
Kings, Pelicans, Jazz, Mavs, Grizzlies in the West.
Pacers, Wizards, Nets, Bucks, Bulls in the East.
None of those teams have any ambition to win games, except I guess the Pelicans, but that's a different matter.

If moving Vooch means more minutes for Jalen Smith at C then that maybe a good thing for the Bulls. Vooch is disgustingly defensively and barely moves the needle on offense.

But now they have a glut of guards with Giddey, Simons, Ivey, White, Dosunmu, Tre. Surely two of those need to be moved. Probably White and Dosunmu.

How many guards does Chicago need? Tryinga corner the market and sell one to Houston?

I only just looked at Taylor Hendricks stats page (9th pick from '23 draft) who just got traded to MEM. Guy is an absolute bust (4.9 ppg/3.0 rpg). Even Sochan put up numbers on a losing team..

Just a reminder how hit and miss the draft can be even inside Top 10..Spurs should be happy with what they got out of Vassell who probably still goes up 3-4 spots in a redraft of the 2020 class

CP0/Harden were an epic chokejob away from beating them tbh.
I'd say a hamstring injury away.

2015: Everyone gets injured.
2017: Zaza kills the only competitor.
2018: CP3 goes down as they were about to beat the Warriors.
2022: The entire Nuggets roster except Jokic was injured.

Yeah, there are no guarantees.
I'm personally upset because they completely whiffed on all three picks with so many good players being available.
2019 was fine because even though Samanic was a bust, we got Keldon.
Going 0/3 was really bad. If we didn't luck out with Wemby, we'd still be talking about missing out on Williams and Duren.
