Trade Official 2025-2026 Trade Deadline Thread

The Bulls really don't get enough hate for being the 3rd biggest market in the league and being absolute shit since MJ left save for a few years of the DRose teams.

Reisdendorf should have been forced to sell years ago tbh.
They have so normalized with mediocrity to the point that they are mistaken for the Hornets. Just a complete waste of the historical pedigree & aura built by MJ. They should have been up there on the same pedestal with Lakers and Celtics, tbh.

Donovan Mitchell specifically asked for Harden. Gonna be funny when Mitchell doesn't sign the extension in the summer and they trade have to trade him.
You know that's gonna happen too hahaha. But that'll be the next GM's problem, this one is making the right move for himself if not for the team.

I just saw the details of the AD trade; that's gotta be the two fakest FRPs i have seen for a 'star' player. :st-lol: It was all done for the PR.
Oh that 30th OKC pick is very real, its just that's its like the 36-38th most valuable pick in the draft :st-downspin:.

I actually think all the stars who've been traded are sensible (Harden, Garland, Davis) or at least defensible (Jackson Jr.) moves, but two things have become abundantly clear in the apron era.

Unless you've just started to tank, the line of demarcation between that and trying to win is blurred and it's been reinforced how difficult it's going to be to trade Fox period, let alone extract a modicum of value in exchange.

Which is why I continue to not rule out the possibility that Harper is the one ultimately dealt.

He's better than David Robinson, ya know!
They were actually saying he's better than TD ever was after that one ring. I mean, how could they say that when they trashed the Spurs for the 1999 title in the lockout season (the 1999 one was more than legit - every team played the same amount of games), yet they somehow held that bubble ring to the highest standard when the whole league was a mess. What a bunch of clowns.

say what you will about anthony davis and trae young but the wizards bought them at their lowest possible prices. they got Trae young for McCollum and Kispert, literally just filler expiring salary.

then they got Day to Day-vis for in basically a big salary swap, "2 first round picks" and some seconds. the first round picks are likely going to be the #30 overall pick in this year's draft, and then probably a 2nd round pick in 2030 (its the warriors TOP 20 protected pick that year, which becomes a second if it doesnt convey).

they still have some incoming draft assets as well, and were of course able to retain their own 2026 pick in what looks like a strong draft

they no longer will have cap space, but tbh they werent going to get more impactful free agents than Trae and Davis in the short term. now they have Trae running an offense with Sarr/Davis as the bigs to clean up defensively. Tre Johnson as the shooter. they still have other young prospects in Coulabaly, Whitmore, Will Riley, Kyshawn George, Bub Carrington

i dont know how well this will work for them, but they suddenly are a much more interesting/exciting team with a fair amount of draft capital still headed their way. them and Utah both made moves that i can only applaud as valid attempts to change the makeup of their teams

they know he's not going anywhere and will wait a buyout or free agency

And it seems like with their pieces, pretty much anyone they land in the Top 7 would be a fit, except for maybe Boozer who probably lacks the athleticism to slide to the 3 and San Antonio's own Kingston Flemings who might be a little small next to Trae?

I'm legit happy to see both WAS and UTA making some positive plays to be at least somewhat compete

Maybe tomorrow is the day our dreams come true? Making a trade on a big game night might be disruptive. I'm probably just deluding myself.

I recall several seasons in which the Spurs didn't announce any moves and we'd later find out they did make a trade at the deadline, usually a small one. I'm hoping there is some movement even if we don't find a home for the Polish Prince. I'd think that Giannis and to a lesser extent, Ja, are still gumming up the league machinery, and unless I missed it, the Lakers have yet to act and we all know how they like to deal at the deadline. My bold take is that we either do nothing or are a peripheral piece of a blockbuster. I do love the Wild West fervor of this trade deadline so far.

Harrison Barnes gotta be sweating bullets on nights like these, having already lived through the experience of being traded mid-game.

Oh, and I think Ja definitely gets moved before the deadline… maybe even for less than what the Hawks got for Trae.

Giannis might go down to the wire…
