NBA NBA All-Star weekend, February 13th-15th, Intuit Dome, LA

Damn the eastern conference was pure shit compared to the west. You can tell how lopsided just from those pictures.
17 titles for the West (TD 5, Kobe 5, Drob 2, Sheed 1, KG 1, GP 1, JKidd 1, Fin 1) vs 3 for the East (Allen 2, Big Dog 1)
7 MVP for the West (TD 2, Malone 2, DRob 1, Kobe 1, KG 1) vs 1 MVP for the East (AI)

I remember saying this in 2003 and I'll say it again -- these are the good old days.
When the Warriors blew the game back open to double digits in the third last night I thought damn I'm gonna do like Russ and just take a walk (without the phone) to get away from the game for a while. Sure enough I got back home right after De'Aaron hit the shot to tie the game at the end of the quarter and watched an awesome fourth quarter of Spurs basketball.
:vic-cheers:

(baseline here btw; changed my name here at the new place)

Another thing that stands out is how the West had 8 bigmen and only 4 guards. It goes to show you how the rules didn't favor perimeter players back then.

I’m going to really enjoy this run. Seriously folks, don’t pick nits, just relax and enjoy the show. We’re setting up for another long run, assuming Wemby’s health holds up.
And possibly 2-3 All-Stars in the future, in Wemby, Castle and Harper.

Wemby is made for these All-Stars. Unlike Timmy, Wemby will be putting on a show, crossovers between the legs, ally-opp dunks, shots at the logo, blocks. And Wemby would very well want to be the All-Star MVP.

Duncan actually did pretty well at these all-star games during the first half of the '00s. He won an all-star MVP with Shaq in '00 which I felt should have just gone to him. In '01 he dominated the first half of the all-star game and looked like he was going to get the MVP again until Kobe started hogging the ball in the second half of the game. In '05 I felt he had a strong start in the first half of the all-star game and then Pop shut him down in the second half which thwarted a chance of him getting the MVP in that game.

I’m not taking away from Timmy. But Timmy was more about winning with his competitive nature. But you have to admit, Wemby likes to put on a show. He’d do a between the legs dunk because he likes to entertain fans who are mesmerized by what he can do. I’m just saying Wemby would thrive on these All-Stars events, much like Curry, Jordan, Kobe, Magic.

Wemby has the handles, he’s a big target for ally opps especially when nobody’s playing defense, he can shoot the 3’s. Dude might just break AS scoring record
