Balmer is so much more wealthy than the other NBA owners. Not many can afford the sort spending he’s willing to spend. That’s why the owners pushed for it the much more restrictive CBA, with the aprons, in the first place.

Plus, don’t these shenanigans mean the poorer teams are missing out on luxury tax revenue? That alone would piss me off if I were an owner.

Unbelievable that Kawhi did nothing for Aspiration while Ballmer maintains plausible deniability. Robert Downey Jr. at least did a video and a couple of appearances for far less $. Hopefully, the NBA does a deep dive on this and it tarnishes KL's legacy while bringing severe punishment to the Clippers. Would suck if the Thunder get their 2027 pick and they tank. He’s got two FMVPs, usually a lock, but his regular numbers would come up short. He’s 34, and is still sort of 15K points. With his health, and possible looming suspension, he’ll never hit 20K, usually the line in the sand.

At one point is was arguably the best two way player in the league (specifically the 2016-17 season). That's a lot more than a lot of other HOFers can say, and he's a two time FMVP. I think he has the resume to be a HOF... but he's done enough to tarnish his legacy that I could see him not making it for awhile.

They shouldn't void his contract, but rather suspend Kawhi for the length of it, force the Clippers to pay it but instead of to Nephew but to the league (to then get split amongst the teams or go into the player's escrow or something) and it still counts against the cap and tax for the Clippers.

The CBA limits the penalty to loss of 1 FRP, $3.5 million fine and voiding the contract. I don’t see anything about suspending the player. In the scheme of things really a slap on the wrist.

If the allegations are true, I wonder if this could a case of money laundering (as in Balmer pay Apsirations $28M to funnel to nephew). I don't believe anything will happen to Kawhi, he already got paid, he signed with company to give him $, where the money comes from is not his business.

The only way anything can come down is if there is a paper trail of uncle Dennis facilitating this deal, and has a part of creating the structure, or at least in the know of how it worked, but it's easy to deny and I doubt they are stupid enough to put this on paper.

Don’t confuse late career Dwight with the absolute beast who ruled the paint back when that meant you ruled the league, he’s scored 5000 more points than Kawhi,and about 10% more points per season.

He took a nothing team to the Finals. That’s as much as Barkley, Stockton, Malone,Ewing, Glide as primary, and more than DRob as primary and Mullins did. That’s a big chunk of the Dream Team, and they’re all in the Hall. It’s also not the NBA HOF, it’s the basketball HOF. There are executives, referees, coaches, and GIRLS. Did they all win NBA titles?
