Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Watch

Agree to the Trade for Greek Freak (top 4 player on the planet now)?

Bringing in a third team doesn’t magically fix the fact that NY has no assets. They either need assets to send to MIL, or assets for the 3rd team, so they can send out what MIL wants.
It’s going to be interesting to see if he tries to force his way to New York. I guess is my thinking. They love him in Milwaukee so I think they are going to wanna work with him on this.

You trust Unc to get his shot back more than putting Wiggins there? I know Wiggins is 25 lbs lighter but not like Barnes is guarding anyone anyways.

Still, for a team that needs, among other things, more heft at PF, a 209 pound player makes no sense.

That's not going to help their cause vs the Nuggets, Timberwolves, Rockets, hell even Pelicans (not that they should build the team with them in mind).

They need a PF to defend their overpowering scoring bigs, so that Wembanyama can serve as the help defender.

YAWNis is how I feel about this whole Giannis debacle. Keep him far away from the Spurs. But interested in seeing where he goes from here. Hopefully he stays in the East.

this seems to be the best offer on the market by far. Even though I think Giannis should stay east, cause he can go to the finals every year over there. Would also be funny if no trade happens at the deadline and all Warriors players know they were in trade talks.
This seems like it’s going to be a prime example of how to destroy your franchise for half a decade or more.

Wow. How long do you guys see Curry still playing for? Crazy move if they give up a ton for him.

Edit : Even though I wouldn't mind seeing the Warriors give up everything for him, I really don't want him in the West. The East is the overall weaker conference a lot of the time, and I'd rather see the East have some better teams to balance it out.

A really good point I've heard in the chatter around Giannis...

Ownership of these teams really needs to step in on these deals where picks in the distant future is involved. A GM without a super high level of job security would happily give up an FRP in 2032... he won't be here to suffer the consequences. Likewise, Jon Horst (MIL GM) might not be super motivated by picks that far out, because he might figure he might get fired by then.

If the Heat can trade Wiggins for a 1st now, they unlock the ability to offer 4 1sts now and Herro and Ware easily > Kuminga and Podziemski.

Even if the Heat getting to that point takes until the off season, what's the Bucks rush? And why would Antetokounmpo be interested in the gauntlet of the West and a going on 38 costar?

I can't wait to watch them crash and burn when one or both of them inevitably get injured for the playoffs. Curry will be 38 by seasons end. They're going to be Milwaukee 2.0 in a couple years and this move doesn't even make them favorites. I get wanting to do right by Curry but geez

Exactly.
Current Warriors situation isn't great, front office is under a lot of pressure, might aswell go for it because they'll likely get fired, anyway. The issue is that a lot of owners have no clue what's going on.

GMs are basically like:

This is why I think the Bucks should absolutely be trying to make a deal with ATL for Tingus, Risacher NOP/MIL26 and NOP/MIL27 over everything else.

They might be able to get more picks elsewhere, but they absolutely will not get better quality picks anywhere. If they got that NOP/MIL26, they could hard tank the rest of this year and have two really great shots at a Top 4 this year. Imagine if they both hit, they'd have an instant reset.

They could also turn around and try to flip Tingus for someone who needs to get off some bad longer term contracts. They wouldn't be able to aggregate him to help the Sixers get off of PG13 or anything like that, but the could help POR get off Grant and perhaps get one of those swaps back? Or they could help TOR get off of Jakob's terrible deal in exchange for a pick.
I agree, this year draft is pretty good at the top, having NOP pick plus them tanking would give them quality picks right now

I know that won't happen but would you guys do Fox+26 swap+ Atlanta 27+Boston swap 28?
You can’t trade just a swap,so no deal can include our 26 pick with ATLs swap attached AND the 27 ATL pick. Stepien rule, since we already traded our own 27 pick.

Even if this trade were possible, I wouldn’t do it for an oft injured 31 YO prima Donna.

Giannas coming over to Western conference will means that the top 6 players on the planet are all at the west

Joker, SGA, Luka, Giannas, Wemby, Ant

And young players like Castle, Harper, and Flagg.

They just need to do away with the whole conference idea, and seed a 16 team playoff by records.

Yes....as a fan, I really hate it when the Western Semifinals or Western Finals is the "actual" finals.

Example 2007...Spurs vs Suns in 2nd round that year is the "actual" finals tbh.
and 2006...Spurs vs Mavs in 2nd round deserves to be Western Finals or the NBA Finals.

I am sure there are many other examples

How dare you suggest that LeBron’s legacy and path to greatness was built on the back of cakewalk parades to the NBA finals year after year! Don’t you know it was actually built on teaming up with Wade and Bosh, and winning two championship in truncated NBA seasons!
