It definitely does because it keeps happening, and if you look at his history over the last several years, he is breaking down. He is on that injury report even when he plays. Constantly questionable with some sort of leg issue.
What I was thinking as well, and unfortunately it'll put him in range for a lot of teams. Hopefully he ends up staying in the East tbh.

I think he does stay in the East. But I don’t think he gets traded until the summer honestly especially if he’s going to be out for 6 weeks. And that trade value is definitely going to be diminished with teams telling Milwaukee that he is injury prone. And they aren’t lying.

Wow. That sucks for Giannis and the Bucks, and also for the Spurs as Atlanta has an easier path now :(.

Milwaukee wasn't gonna catch up anyway, I'm more interested in Charlotte, if they decide to full tank or not.

Well, I really thought the Bucks did have a chance to catch them because of Giannis. Hornets, I doubt it going by their track record of tanking. Why wouldn't they want one more good pick?

Draft lottery has been working out lately for teams hanging out around the play-in tbh.

Well,up until this year, Charlotte was protecting their pick from us by tanking. There was an actual reason.

OK, you got me there, I just thought they were tanking for the sake of tanking to try and build their team up that way. How many years could that pick have conveyed for? Was it for more than a season or two? That might explain partially why they were tanking in some of those years.

I wish LaMelo Ball didn't play for them. I really liked the Hornets when I was a kid and first started watching the NBA. I missed the Alonzo Mourning/Larry Johnson teams when they were together, but I got to watch a little bit of the Glenn Rice, Dell Curry, Vlade Divac teams. I'd like to see them return to those fun teams. From what I read, they really had some good players in the early 90s. If it was a better run organization, maybe the could have done better in the 90s. They seemed to have had a lot of talent.

Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller seem to be helping turn around the team a bit. Do you still watch the Hornets @DaSlicer? If so, what do you think of their future prospects if they get another top pick? Can they return to prominence?

Well I’m officially off the Giannis bandwagon… His body is just done. If I’m him though I’d look for some way to get traded to Minny or Denver. Get one last realistic shot at winning a title for him.

It’s amazing how a player as great as Giannis will wind up with only one ring. Same with Jokic. And they both failed for different reasons. Makes me wonder about Wemby. Is he another 1 ring guy? Winning multiple titles now is going to be insanely difficult for years to come.

We flipped the pick as part of the Fox trade, and it conveyed as 2 SRPs. 2025 was the last chance to get it as a FRP. We got the pick in 2022 from ATL who got it from NY in the Cam Reddish trade. That pick got around.

CHA > NY> ATL>SA>SAC

Took you long enough. :st-lol:

Same with Jokic.
Why? If I had to make a bet right now, I'd bet on the Nuggets to win it all, assuming they can stay healthy.

Winning multiple titles now is going to be insanely difficult for years to come.
This CBA is going to work in our favor because it's going to be impossible to create legit superteams.
And when superteams aren't a thing, the team with the best player always has the advantage.

Yeah, it’s that extreme physical style of play plus he doesn’t take summers off. He’s always playing international ball for Greece. It’s just too much on the body. I don’t know how much more basketball he’s gonna be playing for the rest of this season? But he needs to take the entire summer off and just work on his body, trying to get as healthy as he can for the following season. and while it is bad for Milwaukee, it is good for Giannis that his trade value is down. A lot more people will get in on him because the price got a lot cheaper

Imagine if they do shorten the games from 48 to 40 minutes like has been discussed. Wemby 32/40 is much more terrifying than Wemby 32/48.

They'd still find a way to make the games lasts 2.5 hours. :st-lol:
Watching FIBA is way more enjoyable in that regard. Just 8 minutes less game time, but the games take about an hour less.

Giannis will never be reliably healthy again. Despite his age I would be fine sending Harper off for him. Because he’s a force of nature.

But he’s broken, like kawaii has been and like Jimmy has been and Embiid and Davis and countless others who hit the rubicon and will just never have normal bodies again.

It’s surprising with him. He looks like such a tank and isn’t that old. But I wonder if his frame wasn’t meant to carry that much muscle and do this level of activity. And his usage has always been high. Just a worn out dude at this point. Nobody should be sending a blue chipper the other way for him.

I predict something like Giannis/Portis for Herro/Rozier*/Ware/Jovic with '29, '31 FRPs and '28, '30, '32 swaps going to Milwaukee.

*Wiggins if Rozier's contract isn't tradeable because of legal issues.

I don’t expect them to stay healthy. They’re an injury riddled team.

Fox and Sochan for Curry

Harper, Barnes, Olynyk, and picks for Giannis

Curry/Vassell/Champagnie/Giannis/Wemby with Castle/Waters/Keldon/Kornet off the bench
Doesn't work under the cap. You'd have to send Sochan to Milwaukee then add Keldon to GSW for the trade to be legal on Feb 3rd.

Spurs get: Lauri
Jazz get: Barnes, Sochan, Olynik, ATL Swap 26, ATL Pick 27

Who says no?

a non-psycho gm would want 4-5 firsts for Lauri. Ainge…woof.

He’s one of the most plug and play stars in the league. Every team has a Lauri-shaped hole. He’s a good fit literally everywhere. His contract is a different story but what a dream player.

He says no to three expirings and two picks? OK, I just realise the swap with ATL is useless for Utha. So maybe it would have to be another pick.
Danny always wants a total of 7 FRPs and swaps, the most you can trade.

I like Lauri, but he’s a #2 or 3 being paid franchise player money. In the era of The Second Apron, those contracts will kill your cap and roster quicker than anything.

Exactly. Danny will be precious about Lauri to the point he’ll end up selling at a loss in a few year once Lauri washes up.

Lauri is closer to TM3/Deni status than he is to bonafide star status tbh, and should be valued accordingly.
