Everything will be okay.

i think we'll be fine, but mitch needs to start to draw plays instead of this boring predictable non stop dribble penetration stuff
Plays can be scouted. Drive and kick is dynamic, and also the wave of the future. It’s also what drove The Beautiful Game.

If you run plays against Denver,Jokic will call them out, and direct his teammates on defense.

Well, Sochan did almost save us.
Good on Jeremy for playing as hard as he could out there. I was genuinely disappointed for him when he missed that three. I wanted it to go in badly for him (not so much for the Spurs to win the game, but more for Jeremy to get some confidence back).
Spurs win last night if Wemby plays 3 extra minutes.

Team will be fine.

For all the talk about depth and our guards we have to remember this is Wemby's team and he's being restricted to 20 minutes a night.
Not trying to rain on your take, but the Spurs weren't playing a fully stacked Memphis team. Even if Victor played a few more minutes and the Spurs won, it was still a piss poor game. This would have been a moral loss even if they did win.

In all seriousness we'll be fine and we should be happy that we're playing much better than anyone thought this season regardless of the recent slump. That being said it is a bit troubling to see the Spurs acting like they did something by beating OKC three times and losing focus against the bad teams. Yeah our shooting has been bad but our defense has been ass too.

The Duncan Spurs could get by with playing down to their opponents because they were battle tested and we knew the RS was just a tuneup for them. This team has no business thinking any game is a given W at this point. They need to refocus big time. Also Mitch has been getting way too cute lately with his coaching and needs to cut that shit out.

I'd rather the Spurs face their obvious problems now, when they have time and resources to address them, than be fooled by an outlier hot shooting stretch until it's too late to do something about it. These growing pains are to be expected by a young team on the rise, we'll see if the coaching staff and the FO are up to the task.

I'm in between. While still plenty of season left and time to recover, fertilizer like last night and the giveaways to the Lakers and Warriors Xs 2 is something that needs to be corrected immediately. Wemby may not last 15 years, hell he may not last 5. We don't need babyface Mitch playing cutesy. He doesn't have a lineup of 4-5 HOFers that can bail his ass out continually like Pop.

If, repeat if this is Mitch trying some headgamey Popesque "hey I'll show how super open minded i am and play Sochan for the final shot to win the game. It's just basketball." That needs to be readjusted 10 years ago.
Cue that warden in Shawshank. Not tommorow, not after breakfast. NOW!

The great start to the season made the expectations around the team crazy, and it can be a bit exhausting at times. Sucks that Wemby is restricted so much and seemingly can't be "unleashed" nor the team find consistency or rhythm.

However the restrictions are aiming to lengthen his career in a very careful manner, and considering how enormously valuable every single minute that Wemby is on the basketball court seems to be, I try to keep as much perspective as possible about it. I want to see 10, 15, 20 years of Wemby if possible, a little sacrifice now be damned.

Soon the playoffs will come and he'll be putting his body on the line for real, playing the minutes, and these early season things won't be relevant anymore. The team is way ahead of schedule and looks to be fighting for home-court advantage instead of just a spot in the back. I can't wait.

The last 6 games were pretty bad, not going to lie, and that is after the Spurs exceeded all expectations in the first 30 games.

Overall, I'd say 25-11 (that's a 57-win pace) is fantastic this late in the season. What I do hope on what is happening is that the team is experimenting with new combinations to see if there are any flexibility in the lineups, however, what I think is happening is that the team is hitting a rut and poor spacing is catching up to the team. Shooting 35% from 3 for the season is more or less expected. Missing Vassell shouldn't be that big of a setback, and I still believe a well designed offence can help overcome the lack of elite 3 point shooting (see OKC, Lakers if we can get so many FTs, and Pistons).

The Spurs won't be real contenders until Castle and Harper (the two future guard stars) develop a 3-point shot. Teams know that they just have to pack the paint to stop the Spurs. We can see that the Spurs are pulling away as soon as Champagnie, Barnes or Vassel are going off but they are not reliable and not sure part of the long term strategy (maybe Champagnie if we can get to sign for cheap again). For me, direct qualification to the playoffs plus winning the first round will be a success but that means that issues will have to be addressed in the summer. Western finales nest year and title in 2 years.

I'm reminded of dudes who buy high end sneakers but never wear them. 10 years go by and they say "man, I should wear those sick Jordans I got" and then pull them out of the box and watch them crumbled into dust.

You gotta wear the shoes man. That's what they were made for.

Man, I thought I was hopeful when I said they could push 50 wins this season. They're doing great. There are going to be ups and downs.

Hopefully it doesn't take 10 years to get to see Playoff Wemby :st-lol: but I do get the point.

I'd certainly love to know if the minutes restrictions etc would be the "new normal" for his entire career, but just can't see it being the case.
