Player BREAKING: Wemby Expected to Miss Multiple Weeks with Left Calf Strain

The year is 2034... Wemby is finishing his 12th NBA season, but the team announces he will miss the playoffs with a tummy ache, because they are thinking about the long term.

(I am kidding... mostly)

Don Harris reporting 2-4 weeks. Hope it’s closer to 2 but at this rate I’d be surprised if he’s back in early December.

"To be eligible for a Super-Max contract, a player must have between 7 and 9 years of NBA service, have been with the same team since signing their rookie contract, and have achieved one of the following awards: named to an All-NBA team, won MVP, or been named Defensive Player of the Year."
people often conflate the veteran supermax (35% money) with rookies getting the 30% rose rule max. most rookies cap at 25%. rose rule rookies can sign up to 30%. some people mistakenly also refer to that one as supermax

i think we are seeing more injuries like this BECAUSE of how much these guys are babied. less practice, less intense camps. nfl wide receivers keep pulling hamstrings and missing 3+ weeks whereas you look at somebody like jerry rice basically not missing game to injury for a majority of his career and he had a legendary workout routine

Castle is built like a tank, went right back to the bench after the supposed injury that was just soreness and now he's missing another game.

It's insulting to fans that are supporting teams with their hard earned money. Players are making millions and taking weeks off with the smallest things when average Joe often has to work through real injuries because he can't afford to relax home as he has to pay his bills rent and food. Pay disparity between rich and poor is getting crazy nowadays.

It's actually the opposite. With everybody shooting 3's and playing fast as possible at all 3 levels ( high school, college, pro's) basketball players move WAY more now than they did even just 20 years ago. If you just look up stuff like distance traveled and dribbles per game now compared to say the late 90's the numbers barely reflect it's the same sport being played.

Bigs used to spend most of their time in the paint playing foul line down. Now every big has to at least show on a pick n roll no matter where it is, if not just straight up switch. As bad as the Kings are look at how many times Luke had to guard in space yesterday. Imagine somebody like Ostertag or Dudley trying to do that, they wouldn't last 20 games.

Also the fact that now we know enough about some injuries leading to other injuries, so when you get the first one you sit so you don't get the second one. I imagine plenty of players back in the 80's and 90's played with calf strains and that's why they 65 on their 4th ankle surgery and haven't been able to walk straight since they were 40.

some people are claiming it happened at the 1:08 mark when that little shit, Podz, whips his leg out.

The tweet by this Evan Jeffries, is he connected to the Spurs in any way or is he just replying to the original tweet by Shams?

I’m asking because he seems to be talking out of his ass calling it a Grade 2 based on Shams’ comment of Vic being out for a couple weeks. Without a copy of the MRI, we wouldn’t know for sure. “A couple of weeks” could be anywhere between 2 weeks (a grade 1) to several (like, say 6-8 weeks in a grade 3)

I’m a physician as well and we don’t usually give diagnoses over twitter so this is triggering.
I saw that guy's tweet as well. He's talking out of his ass, imo.

so basically , if VIC is healthy, and if he wants to play to play center that game, he'll dominate that game. so basically yao ming level career indeed. better than greg oden, but we are teased by seeing dominating basketball.

But enough about Zaza Pachulia.

It does make me wonder how many games Kobe and Jorden would have been made to sit out had they played in today's game
Does anyone remember if Kobe had a calf injury before tearing his Achilles? Knowing Kobe, he was probably playing through pain.

That's a dirty f'ing play. I hope the Spurs sent that one in.
