I've been having a lot of back pain lately especially when getting up in the morning. Anyone have any recommendations on a good bed? I've been looking at Nectar, Puffy, Sleep Number, etc. Want to see if anyone has any of these name brands and if so what your experience is and if you think it's worth shelling out a couple Gs

what's yr weight and preferred sleep position? you don't need to pay too much. everyone makes the same mattresses now. they ship direct from the mail, unless you need to sample prior to use.

pocket coils are good enough base, but hard foam is also fine. then you look for middle layers and soft foam top layers. understanding what yr getting is essential for judging value and performance.

I have severe back issues for years (basketball isn’t a good sport to pick up for back and knees). I’ve spent thousands on those higher end memory foam mattresses and while it was great at first, it gets saggy after about 2 years, which isn’t all that different from a normal mattress.

I’d say a euro top from Simmons or Sealy are fine. Get it from Costco which does have good prices.

I haven’t tried posturepedic but $4k for a mattress is a little rich for me.

Natural Talalay is a premium, eco-friendly latex foam made from rubber tree sap, I forked extra for organic.
Also got the 3 separate mattresses (see illustration in link) that you stack and then rotate. Should be peachy for at least 5 years. More like 10 really.

Got the auto head and foot raise.

Of course the big Q is why is your back out? Is your condition cureable?

215. I am a side/stomach sleeper but sleep on my back too. I roll around alot which probably doesn't help :st-lol:

Thanks I'll look into it

I have been lifting weights for most of my adult life and the older I get the more I've tweaked my back deadlifting. It happened recently and every time I think I'm ready to get back to it I do a set and my back hurts like a bitch the next day when I wake up. The bed is exacerbating the issue and it's gotten worse lately

I had a Dreamcloud that I really liked, but my wife did not. We returned it within the 365 day policy and got a full refund. What was cool about the "return" is they just asked us to donate it to charity, and we were able to go through a friend who was a social worker and found a single mother who could use it.

We now have a Layla mattress we've had for almost 5 years. It's pretty good, I like that it is reversable for a firmer mattress if you want.

Had a temperpedic before... don't recommend.

Would love to try Purple, tbh.

And oh yeah, have stayed in enough places (AirBnBs, company condos) with Casper mattresses that I can say I do not recommend.

we got a tempurpedic from costco about a year and a half ago and love it, but i know opinions on those are pretty mixed. i definitely wouldnt pay full price at their flagship stores though

only thing ill say is go bigger. once i got a king sized, sleeping on a queen feels cramped. and neither of us are particularly big.

Whatever mattress you get, make sure to get an adjustable frame if you don't have one already. Fucking game changer tbqhwy
