I don't hate picking Karaban, but I'd hate picking him anywhere in the 1st rd. I'd be fine with him as a 2nd rd pick.

He'd be an excellent 2nd round pick for this team.

I think its a product of coaching. With a few exceptions, college coach aren't that good in that area.

I have him two tiers below Mullins myself. I do like him as a 2nd round pick if he's there.

Theres just so many ways the Spurs can pivot because what we already have is very strong. I do it in tiers, but there are other ways to do it, the main thing though is to have different archetypes in the area you think we'll be picking at. You need a complete day 1 guy to give that energy...
