Wanted to post a pic but it wouldn't upload correctly:

Tony Parker, George Gervin, Sean Elliot, David Robinson, Nephew

VS

Avery Johnson, Manu Ginobili, Bruce Bowen, Victor Wembanyama, Tim Duncan

In a 7 game series.

This is tough but think I'd go with the first team. They are just more well balanced and fit is more clean imo. You could get away with Parker on Bowen and whoever is on Avery can leave him to help double Manu. Hate to say it but I think a prime Kawhi would give current Vic a lot of trouble on D

If it’s in May or later, nephew won’t be playing anyway. Duncan, Wemby and Manu would be among the most dynamic trios in history. Team 2.

Man that’s a good question. I think team A would win simply bc Parker and Gervin who are sieves on defense literally wouldn’t have to play any defense anyways. Nobody is guarding AJ and Bowen. Shoot that’s how we lost to Dallas in 06, LA in 04, and Hou in 95. Just pack the paint and leave Bowen and AJ open.

And even though Kawhi vs Duncan would be a mismatch, the fact that we can double and triple team Duncan without fear makes up for that.

Team B has the two best players but Team A is considerably more balanced… seems like a 2014 situation.

Who’s better than the admiral and gervin on team b, other than Duncan?

Parker > Johnson, when it comes to penetrating the paint and dishing the ball.
Gervin < Ginobili, both are spectacular players but I give Ginobili the edge due to his unwavering competitive spirit.
Elliott < Bowen, both are a wash but I choose defense over offense in the SF role. No slight to Elliott though.
Wemby > Robinson, I only say this because which Robinson are we speaking of exactly and what's Wemby's true projection in the coming yrs?
Duncan > Kawhi, offensively Kawhi is 2k like when on the court but Duncan is overall better in every aspect of the game. Plus height is a plus!

I'm probably way off in my assessment though seeing how I didn't watch Gervin much, don't really care for Johnson, and I can not stand Kawhi in the least.

If we're playing with the modern rules and coaching, team A, tbh.

Avery would be by far the worst player on the floor, Manu's playmaking load would be too big.
Nephew would be the perfect defender for Wemby because as we've seen already strong wings give him the most trouble.

How would team B even defend?

Timmy on Admiral
Avery on Tony
What then?
Wemby gets pulled out to the perimeter against either Sean or nephew?
Then Bowen on Iceman because Manu would have no chance.
But would Manu be able to contain Sean with all the size advantage?

Ice is the most disrespected player in NBA history, tbh.
2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th in MVP voting in 5 consecutive seasons, averaging 30/5/3 on 52%. I love Manu as much as anyone, but he just doesn't compare to Ice.

I should YT more of Gervin tbh. I missed out on old heads like him being born in the early 80's.

duncan winner? call FIBA for a fact check. You think you win with 4 down under todays rules?

wemby in his prime is a hospital bill

bruce bown is ejected in like 1 minute under current defense rules. 5 on 4 the whole game

avery the guy who can't stop talking about evangelical Christianity freezes out MANU because AVERY"S WAY IS THE WAY OF GOD.

Manu is ok i guess.

I'll take the team with 5 Matt Bonners

It all depends on the rules. The rules change everything so really this question is difficult to answer.
And also depends if Kawhi actually plays. If they can even find the guy

But if they did play,
90's rules - Duncans team would win.
todays rules - Robinsons team would win
