I have to stop replying as if I hate Harper. I don't just in case anyone is thinking that. I really love that we got him and I love his play. I just still believe Kon would've been the better pick for what our team needs right now AND in the future. Most of you in here just keep talking about the future and where he'll eventually end up being and none of that is guaranteed. That's with any of these young guys. But again, I don't hate Harper and I'm just fine with him being on this team.
But on another note, I'm confused on why y'all seem so quick to push Castle out of the way as if he couldn't/can't achieve all of these things that people speak about of Harper and be our point guard of the future. I guess because his play doesn't look as smooth?? As of right now, Harper appears to be a much more natural scorer but Castle is no slouch at creating his own shot or getting to the hole ither. We know he works hard on his game and has shown great improvement in it in just his second year and his top notch defense is already there. I guess Area 51 isn't a thing anymore, huh? This coming off a year of being the ROTY. Me personally, I felt like we had our PG of the future in Castle, which is why I questioned the pick. Especially since we just signed Fox to 4 years. That means that Harp can potentially be coming off the bench for those 3 or 4 years as the #2 pick and that makes no senses to me. No one can convince me that Kon wouldn't have been just as great a pick as well if we would've drafted him. We love Devin now but let's not forget that many wanted him gone up until this year. We needed shooting and we knew Kon was a sniper coming out of college. He could very well be Curry 2.0 in terms of just shooting the 3 ball. I'll take that as a "role player" compared to a guard that we already had 2 of.
