The rookie-sophmore game this upcoming All-Star weekend might be must see, with Harper and CB, and the rest of this rookie class. Hey, maybe Castle plays a doubleheader.
I was going to say, I didn't look at the stats, and I know he had a bad game as far as scoring goes, but without looking at the box score, I came away thinking he did other things well where Mitch can't point out the box score saying it's unacceptable to have 7 pts, 2 assists, 0 rebounds etc. like he did in a game earlier in the season. Mitch said he's not worried about the scoring, but he can't have games doing nothing else. Now that you've shown those numbers (first time I saw them), he definitely still had a great impact on the game doing other things. I'm sure Mitch would be happy with him making it up in other areas. He didn't score much in this game but he had a Jason Kidd like game with this 10 assists and 5 steals and 0 turnovers.
We should have known that he may have had that potential as his dad was one of the Bulls' best perimeter defenders. I didn't really think about that aspect as I wasn't expecting it either. He most likely would have been in Dylan's ear about how important defense is to winning games and Championships. The typical NBA father-son, I don't recall most of their dads being great defenders, whereas, Ron was an offensive player earlier in his career and then a defensive player later in his career on Championship winning teams. I'm guessing some of the stuff Ron said would have sunk in, and Dylan would have had no problem buying into it when getting to San Antonio and hearing the coaching staff talk about it being non-negotiable. You probably don't get that type of buy-in from the get go from guys that had their fathers play in the NBA, but weren't defensive players themselves.the most impressive thing I didnt expect from Harper is his perimeter defense, defensive iq
he's rarely in the wrong spot, and always hustling
In front of which ones can't he?Harper's D is great. Wasn't expecting it to be this good this soon. He, Fox and Castle can stay in front of at least 80% of the guards in the league.
Castle is a beast, basically.

Fox + Harper:
