Player The Mundane Mediocrity of Maestro Mitch Johnson and his Many Minions

I'm with this way of coaching. He won't start Harper, but since the Spurs have the great guards, you got to keep playing the one/s that are playing best. Too many times Dylan has played well and then he sticks with Fox to close out the game. It didn't help Fox play better in the playoffs, but it sure as sh1t could have given Dylan more experience for the playoffs if he got to close out more regular reason games when he was playing great. Then Mitch could have had more confidence to let him close out games in the playoffs. Either way, he's gotta start playing the player/s that are playing best. Stop going back to Fox when he's stinking it up, or Castle for that matter too.
last night it didn't help that Castle was being stupid with his fouls, if he stayed in the game more he could taken some of Fox's minutes, he was shooting the ball well, rebounding...

I'm ok with the choice to let them play out the last 6 seconds.
Our set offense was terrible all night and we did our best work in transition.
The play ended up getting us a wide open 3 pt shot from one of our most consistent shooters.

The biggest problem was letting Wemby play such a passive offensive game all night.
At some point you get in your superstar's face and let him know he needs to be more aggressive and not just settle for contested 3s.
Or you draw up plays to get him going closer to the rim.
That doesn't seem to have ever happened.

Yeah, it’s just too much of an overreaction and it’s not going to happen. Fox did play extremely well in the last playoff series. He’s a veteran, he’s an All-Star, etc. He’s obviously going to get his minutes here.
TBF, he didn’t played well until we got 2-1 lead and got HCA back.

Thats when he woke up and closed the series…

For me Fox always looked like he can’t play with pressure. He needs that calming feel which he wont get from MIN.

Lets see…

so much wrong with this comment...
Oh But if Champ made it Mitch is a God Damn genius..

you're basically conceding that your coach can't write a play for a 7-5 player and you're justifying losing 5 seconds out of 7 to run the court, when calling a timeout would give the full 7 to prepare the shot

Yeah 7 seconds to design a play for Wemby shooting 5/17 or Fox shooting 5/14? Wemby is NOT making any jumper in that spot. Minutes earlier he badly bricked a 7-8 foot mid range.. Every 3 was way off aside from 1 that rolled around. So what play do you want run in that spot with 7 seconds to go that is going to get you a better look than what we got?

And it comes down to the coaching argument of calling the TO so the opposing coach can go over all the scenarios versus the chaos of just letting a play develop. T-Wolves were on their heels, they were reeling and the look was spot on..

Not calling timeout in the last play was the right call in my opinion, but not telling your players before hand, wasn't good at all :st-lol:

Ah.....you changed my hopeful title. I was thinking Mitch would live up to this formerly lofty thread title. 🤐

You spent decades complaining about the greatest coach of all time. You’re just always going to bitch about the coach. Mitch fucked up last night but under no circumstances can I take you being critical of a Spurs head coach seriously because of your decades of nonsense.

He's ducks with a high school literacy level.
