Player The Burgeoning 3&D American Sign Language Consulate of Carter Bryant

Bryant can miss all his 3pt shots and still be a better player than Harrison Barnes can ever hope to be at this stage of his career.

I'm hoping for Mitch to have a damn realization moment and start giving him the minutes he deserves, get him as acclimated to a bigger role as possible before the playoffs. It's not just the shooting, or the defense, he's becoming a sneaky great lob threat and play finisher, which I wouldn't have predicted looking back at his missed dunks and "small hands" to begin the season.

He's also got a quiet confidence to his game that's really enjoyable to watch. Looks to be one of those role-players that catches fire in the POs when they "begin to believe". That All-Star Game appearance did wonders for his confidence.

Completely agree...Mitch gotta stop trying to force barnes.Sure bryant gonna make mistakes,But hes gonna have to learn from it
and find were he fits and helps the team. And hes been doing that,Mitch gotta give him a chance and let him get thru it and learn.

Why isn’t Wemby on that first list
Because opponents don't take shots against him that they take against everyone else.
They basically just take the highest percentage shots in the paint and don't bother with anything he can contest.

Didn't Harrison Barnes say something like they need a new stat drives deferred or something like that

With how shaky and rattled he looked when he started the season, I would have never guessed he would be part of the regular lineup in March. Pleasantly surprise! Future is really bright for this kid!

Yeah, I saw the Clippers going at Barnes knowing he was the weak link on defense. I like the veteran presence he'll provide in this playoffs, but Carter needs to be getting most of Barnes' minutes at this point. Kid is maturing at a fast rate.

Some already call it the "Hell nuh!" for players avoiding to shoot because Wemby is somewhere (or they are spooked he could be nearby).

At least he is getting his flowers for that from the media. In Bill Simmons' last pod, he said, it's about 30 occasions a game, where Wemby somehow influences a shot.

But since this thread is about CB, you also have to say, that a lot of media folks really see his greatness and especially the CB/Harper/Castle/Wemby defensive threesome gets mentioned a lot.

It's been a looot of teams going after Barnes this season it feels like, and tbh, who can blame them - when he's on the court with Castle, Wemby, Champ, they'd be dumb not to go at him. Which is all the more reason for Carter to eat into his minutes in the POs - can't afford a weak link, not only for the ISO possessions he gives up, but also because he forces help defense and rotations that the Spurs don't necessarily want to be running.

I'd especially want to limit Wemby's need to rotate or switch onto other defenders as much as possible. He looked fun and nimble chasing Garland around in that highlight.... But I was wincing through watching it. Not the wear I want on those knees.

Anyway I don't see Mitch as a dumb coach at all, I feel it's really a matter of time before Carter has his "arrival moment" (if the Dunk Contest appearance wasn't one already) and really forces his hand into a bigger role. Hopefully a showing-out in the 1st Round...

Damn...CB is playing himself into starter role next year.

If CB continues at this improvement rate, how should MATFO change their drafting priority in the draft...

Nothing changes, tbh
We’re stacked at guard
We’re stacked at wing
We don’t want to spend too much at center

Adding another forward to compete with CB for minutes can only be good. Even adding someone just in case CB sucks next year is good too.

I don't think it changes too much. Best big available. But maybe a slightly greater emphasis on someone who can actually spend some real time at C -- I know we're all nervous about our third string situation there. I'm still team Yaxel but there are a few other players making noise this year I haven't really looked at yet. Not yet ready to make my personal picks...

Can we call him the steal of last draft or is that to early still?
for rookies that played more than 30 games, he's not in the first 25 in ppg, rbg, asg, stlg, blkg, 3pt%, and probably leads the league in blown dunks... so yeah, i'm gonna go yes, it is still early on that one..

Ahead of schedule, but unlikely to be the 'steal' of the draft. Still, I have more confidence now than ever that he's gonna be a very good addition to this crew.

Honestly this draft class is pretty epic.
