Two things can be true at once. We're grateful Doc Rivers is retarded enough that he blew Timmy's recruitment, and he's also the most overrated HC in the league whose entire legacy has been carried by one super-team ring that he won nearly 20 years ago.Lol people here bashing doc. Ya’ll should be thankful to doc. If not because of him duncan signed with the magic and spurs didnt have 5 championships.
Just to push back a little . ..Fuck Doc Rivers. He’s a guy who legit shouldn’t have been hired for his last two jobs.
Every time a new young coach gets hired an angel gets their wings. Every time Doc gets hired, a devil gets their horns. Stop with the retread coaches. Doc has lived off that 2008 chip more than Yoko lived off John’s royalties.
Sorry, but I don’t feel bad about embarrassing a team that is doing everything it can to lose. There were a lot of guys in street clothes on the Milwaukee bench. Play them if you don’t want to get stomped. You can’t have it both ways. The basketball gods were not amused @ that shameless chucking by Vic in a 30+ blowout and promptly put a lid on the rim for him. Luckily it wasn’t worse.
Doc seemed a little serious with Mitch as the game ended too. I wonder if he had some thoughts about Castle coming back in for a rebound or Vic doing whatever the hell he was doing.
I think scott said doc was a bad coach and it caused that other poster to “retire” iirc. That was TD21 iirc.
Unfortunately, in many cases being a genius level self promoter can get you at least as far in life as actual competence.Doc Rivers seems genius level as a self promoter. As a coach ... not so much.
Feels like Giannis is the type of player who would come to the Spurs when he’s an old vet who can’t secure the bag anymore a la CP3.
Wemby's failed statpadding attempt and Castle getting brought in to hunt for the triple double in 30-point was a disgrace that is so unbecoming of this organization.
Mitch needs to be more in control of stuff like that..You don't need to completely bottle it up like Pop, but you also can't allow such inherently noxious habits to pollute a team-first culture
I don't give 2 shits about Doc, I found it curious because sometimes there is more going on behind the scenes to help explain things. Some front offices/gm's/even ownership groups (Suns & Cavs for example) have bad blood for a variety of reasons and it felt very un-Spurs-like to chase a triple double or give Vic 5 extra mins of run in which he clearly was chasing buckets. I don't even necessarily have a problem with stomping a team when they're down (until a guy gets injured), just not used to seeing it from our side.Fuck Doc Rivers. He’s a guy who legit shouldn’t have been hired for his last two jobs.

Don't forget how he hung out with the Spurs a lot during All-Star Weekend and how his kids gravitated towards Wemby and CB that weekend.IIRC, Giannis did some training with both Dylan and Ace ahead of the draft last year?
don't agree. an open mid range is still a good shot. and if Wemby is able to shoot it at a good percentage, man, he would be unstoppable offensively cause he can get them easily.
much better for him than a reckless drive or an hesitant 3 pts.....

He’ll find it. I don’t love him taking a ton of three-point shots, especially if he does that in a big playoff game. I want him moving without the ball, trying to get mid range shots up. But he’ll figure out the outside shot.Concerned with that outside shot right now
Why? Weren't you worried about him being "too nice" that in rough and trying times-- not when things are dandy like these days-- he could get walked all over by players? (ie. Brad Stevens) I am not advocating for him to be a rigid overseer like Pop, but trying to statpad on a downtrodden team when a game is decidedly out of reach should be beneath this franchise or any self-respecting one. So the onus here is on Mitch to be the mature leader who knows the norms and the unwritten rules of this league.Say what you will about Rivers, but he's easily one of the most criticized people and definitely coach in the league for years, so he damn sure isn't "overrated".
No disrespect, but that's an outdated sense of the power of coaches, especially on a team like this.

Doc Rivers is the Jeff Fisher of Dick MottasI think scott said doc was a bad coach and it caused that other poster to “retire” iirc.
