Game Thread Spurs (45-17) vs Clippers (30-31) (Fri 03/06/26) [8:30 PM CST]

They went for HCA throughout the postseason in the last game of the season in 2011 and Manu broke his elbow. You know the rest tbh.

Also, Spurs would've won 3 of those series with or without HCA.

Yup, Detroit and quite possibly the Kidd Nets beat us with HCA, while the 99 Knicks and 07 Cavs were clearly way inferior and the 2014 Heatles were tired and that was they year they brought back the 2-2-1-1-1 Finals format so we could have likely beaten them in 6 without HCA.

2011 I forget who we were chasing, Derrick Rose era Chicago? I believe we had clinched HCA over the Lakers and rest of the West

Fair enough. I just hope it's wrong about it being his unique physical build.

I didn't get to watch prime Hakeem, so I don't know how much ground he covered on defense. Not sure who else is up there on both defense and offense for big men. It's usually guys like Jordan, Kobe when he was younger, Kawhi that did it two way. Not sure how hard Jordan went during his prime years and/or if he took plays off on defense throughout parts of the games?
We had the admiral and that load he carried most definitely took a toll on his body. That team had no business winning 50+ year in and year out.

But to be fair, neither the admiral nor hakeem had to cover that much ground defensively back then. Just a different game back then.
