Timberwolves are playing the Celtics tonight, they'll be on a b2b.
They're entering that game with three straight losses and have had a lot of issues this season, mainly because Conley is washed and Dillingham isn't an NBA level player.

Edwards is playing great, but he's not a playmaker and him dropping 40 doesn't do much for the rest of the team.
Imo, the key thing will be dealing with Randle. He's a bad matchup for us if he gets it going.

Their bench has been tragic, I fully expect Harper and Keldon to dominate them.

Harper should’ve closed the last game instead of fox. Hoping to see more minutes in general from Harper

Well, it's not like the Spurs picked Dillingham and then traded him away. They traded away the pick and picked Dillingham because the Wolves wanted him. So who knows who the Spurs would have actually selected with this pick.

Dillingham was a high favorite in ST

I wanted the spurs to get him or buzelis in addition to castle...I still would not give up on dilly as a good player though...
just look at houston and their pick -Sheppard -

bunch of people here (and ST) were beginning to write his bb obituary...and he seems to be turning the corner this season...

Sheppard will never be able to defend his position. My opinion is that he will top out as bench spark plug.

I never understood why people thought of them as contenders when they lost NAW and weren't able to replace him. It's clear they have gotten worse.

We weren't going to draft Dillingham if we kept the pick. No one knows who they were going to pick.

Donte and McDaniels are the two guys I'm worried about tomorrow. Can't let these two tee off with open looks against us... they've both the prototypical role player who goes off for 28 against us or something absurd.

Naz will challenge us a bit as well. If Kornet is matched up on him, Naz will stretch him out to weaken our interior and Luke is too slow to keep up with him if he gets drawn out. Will need positive contributions from Kelly and Jeremy off the bench again.

Let's close out this road trip!

Gotta ride the hot hand OP!

Really, don't care if we lose this one; we won the two most important games on this trip. But we can be greedy given Wolves on B2B and in a bit of a slump.

Important game. At the end of the season we'll be battling the Wolves for playoff position.

Remember how pissed everyone was when Spurs traded the pick for Dillingham?
Dillingham was exciting as a Temu Trae Young pairing. It would have been fun and served a critical need.

Keep in mind this was before Fox/Castle/Harper came on as PGs for us in under two years. We want from having NOTHING at PG to a full cupboard very quickly.

I don't think anyone thought it was a bad trade in terms of value. #8 pick in a weak draft for potentially two great draft picks in the middle of Wemby's career.

Traded for a 2030 first-round draft pick and a 2031 first-round draft pick, with the 2030 pick being a right to swap and the 2031 pick being Minnesota’s own. If those are unprotected and this season for the Timberwolves signals a trend that leads to Ant being traded, this could end up being one of the most savvy moves Wright has made as a GM.

That being said, this game is another test for the next generation of Spurs. If they lose focus, they could easily lose or even get blown out by this team. They have several advantages over the Timberwolves, including catching them on the second night of a back-to-back, but they shouldn’t count their chickens before they’re hatched. Rudy Gobert is still a monster in the paint, and that’s a problem, especially without Wimby.

We still have the swap, but the pick went out in the Fox trade.

Really need Fox to not Fox it up and play well. He's getting bounced around by teams with any size or length and not accomplishing much on offense, while being worse on defense. He can't consistently disappear like he has been. The passing is good, but the system creates a lot of those. He needs to be an efficient scorer.

Love the schtick, never change.

It could be a schtick if he at least tried to bend the truth.
But over the past 3 games Fox has defended Booker, Avdija and Murray by design and hasn't been a negative on defense.
His bait attempt just doesn't hold.
As I wrote the other day, name me one all-star point guard other than SGA who's a better defender than Fox?

Mt. Gobert could be a real problem if our outside shooting falls apart, just saying.
