Turns out I don't deal with the tedious aspects of modifying the theme/layout to this place, and ChatGPT ain't exactly helping. I can get there, eventually, but if somebody want to volunteer I'll see if I can assign the appropriate permissions instead.

I tried a xenForo demo site and man it seems like a huge pain in the ass to mess with tbh. Hope someone who knows their shit will volunteer

probably good idea to go with 'less is more'. people will come for the spurs content

1) Is there any way to see who last posted in a thread from the sub forum view?

2) Little annoyance: I just noticed that the check-in thread is in page 2.

In order for me to go to page 2 from the mobile site, I have to go into the thread and then scroll to the last page. Don't know if there's an option to click into the last page like ST has.

(1) On a desktop view you can see the avatar of the last person to post in a thread, on mobile, not so much.

(2) Generally when you tap on a thread it should take you to the place you left off on last visit, but yeah sometimes it drops you at the top of page 1. Sometimes there's a "Jump to New" hyperspace button that'll get you close to where you want to be.

I don't think we need a lot.
The layout is fine, just change the colors to silver and black.

Some sidebar widgets would be nice.
Current standings, Spurs schedule and maybe next game countdown timer. Shouldn't be too much work.

Maybe change avatars to square format.

So not that my opinion matters but I think we need a general Spurs forum, an NBA forum, maaaybe an NFL + All other sports forum, and then a general discussion forum (like the Club) and then a media forum (like the Tech forum) for stuff like video games, movies, streaming, music, etc. That should suffice. Maybe keep this forum as well just for general site news or announcements (if needed)

I would suggest a current events or political forum but we all know that's just asking for trouble 😂

Just say it bro, you miss ST 😂

Just my opinion, which isn't worth much, but I'd want us to avoid too many sub forums. Definitely do not need a politics forum. If we're going to have something like the Club and Tech forum, they can probably just be one catch all "Everything Else" forum.

But until we get more users and actual traction on this site... not sure we need anything, tbh.

Any way to do my beloved 100 posts per page? I don't see it in the options anywhere

I'd say any politics talk should be an instant ban.

Subforums should be something like:
Spurstalk
Game threads (maybe with player rating polls threads after every game since there won't be grade threads)
Everything else (with forum rules/technical stuff topic stickied on top)

Spurstalk seems dead and we'll surely get traction here before the season starts.
Since LJ and Kori aren't in charge of Spurstalk, what if it goes up again? We'll go back there and be at the mercy of an unknown entity?

Doesn't look like we can do it from the user side. Should be in site configuration and will need changing.

I, like many of us, have a longstanding personal admiration for Kori and LJ... if they aren't in charge of SpursTalk anymore... then ST is just another website with owners who apparently give zero fucks about its users, in which case I say fuck them. If ST comes back online, my only purpose in posting there will be to get people to come here.

Now that I've moved past the WTF did I just do stage of message board ownership, I'm trying to knock some stuff out. We should all see 100 posts per page now, as this is a global setting. ChatGPT says there are add-ons that allow adjustments per-user, but we're just doing baby steps at the moment.

Okay plank owners, you can now customize your title (or you can stick with member/new member).

Talk to me more about the username bolding. See mine as an example. I'm not sure what I want (or if I'm even interested).

I don't really know what this means, but I'm updating a field called Username CSS and for the current setup I specified the following:

font-weight: bold;
color: #C4CED4;
text-shadow: -1px -1px 0 #000000, 1px -1px 0 #000000,
-1px 1px 0 #000000, 1px 1px 0 #000000;

If any of you geeks speak this lingo, hit me with suggestions. Whatever we do, it will begin as a one-size fits all exercise, so can't please everyone today.

If there is a way for individuals users to customize that would be great. It's not a big deal, but I'm actually not a fan of 100 posts/page.

Have you tried fiddling with the theme?
For me the #1 priority should be getting the silver and black scheme, looks like a Mavs forum with this one. :LOL:

Can we keep this dark theme in case you ever change to a Spurs-related theme? I find it easy on the eyes.

Looks good for me.

Now bold me. 😅
