Seems like a long shot but not out of the realm of possibility. 5.5 per game over 82. Have to consider health and games played, and at what stage if any, that the opposition just fully decide not to try score over or around Victor.

That's a lofty number, highly doubtful anyone gets there for a season. Makes me wonder how many blocks Wilt averaged.
Wemby will continue to curate the Stocks, blocks, 3's, rebounds and assists as only the Alien can. Hopefully, the wins will increase significantly, too.

Not gonna happen. Players give up pretty quickly after Wemby swatted them once so I do not see him given the opportunities to do this. 4.0 per game would be great already.

This record is safe in the 3 points era.

Wemby in the 90's would break it every years

I'm not a sniffer, but I am deliriously optimistic. This record would include playoffs, correct? 4 rounds of 7-game series would just be 4.15 blocks per game... and he can block 3pt attempts. If the team defense is improved, opposing players may not have anywhere to go to get away from Wemby.

Yeah Eaton did that in 84-85', in a league of lay-ups and mid-range shots, where the league average was 3.1 3pa per team/game. The league only took 3.5% of all shots from 3.
Last yr it was 37.6 3 attempts per team, taking 42.1% of shots from 3. Totally different league today, way less chances to block shots.
That record won't be touched

If you look at the last 25 years, Theo Ratliff has the record with 304 (03-04)
3.6 per game, played 85 games

Wemby got 254 his rookie year.

the game is too spread out and 3pt oriented for this to happen imo

Yeah, I agree with you all, I think 2 things make this difficult nowadays: 1) analytics: more 3s and more awareness of shot quality lead to lesser challenges to Wemby at the rim (getting in and out, kicking out for a 3, etc) and 2) media explosion: nobody wants to appear on every clip getting stuffed by Wemby. Those 2 things make it pretty challenging. Otherwise Wemby should easily get there.

I think this is the proper context to view Wemby's blocks under. The question will be whether Wemby can play 75+ games. He'll need to do that in order to have a chance at Spurs Legend Theo Ratliff's mark.

No. No playoffs. Records for a season are only regular season.
