Windhorst just said the Spurs are not active at all at the deadline
If it's true they didn't trade for Yabusele because they didn't want his $5.7M on the books next season, then there's no way they want Klay's $17.5M on the books next season tbh.Aw fuck come on, at least get Klay. He can't cost shit after what Washington just got AD for.
Difference being that Yabusele is useless. If it's true they didn't trade for Yabusele because they didn't want his $5.7M on the books next season, then there's no way they want Klay's $17.5M on the books next season tbh.
Be it an elimination game or good team chemistry, never underestimate Harden's ability to screw it up.It's funny to see the Clippers kind of blowing it up with Nephew having one of this best seasons at 34 years old.
The Los Angeles Lakers are trading Gabe Vincent and a 2032 second-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks for Luke Kennard, sources tell ESPN.
Nice pickup for LA
Yeah. The odd man out seems Sochan though. He could head towards the waived contract scenario or a fire is lit under his ass and he at least gets back to last year's level on defense. I suspect the first though. Telling how no one is willing to bite to get him. Thats how teams are put off from bad shooting in today's NBA.I much rather see Spurs do nothing than having to take Portis contract or than trading a first round pick for a player like Aldama.
Carter Bryant looking way better allow Spurs to stand pat at that deadline.
I took that more as why have another Sochan situation on their hands for an extra year. Spurs are in the perfect situation to take Klay. They're only $15 million under the cap so if they traded for Klay they'd still be in the same situation next year with basically MLE to spend on the market and Klay having only one more year left on his deal means it wouldn't become a problem when Wemby's max kicks in year after next. The payroll is perfectly setup to absorb someone like Klay who fills a major need.If it's true they didn't trade for Yabusele because they didn't want his $5.7M on the books next season, then there's no way they want Klay's $17.5M on the books next season tbh.
True, but that is a false dichotomy: Cleveland, Minnesota, OKC, Lakers, have all made moves that address their needs to some extent at least. When you watch good players move for 2nd rounders (which the Spurs have a lot of and can't seem to hit one in ages) you wonder if there isn't really any deal out there to be had, or there's some sense of complacency. Not saying they should make a big splashy move for the sake of it (I have always been against that, going back to Simons, Lavine, Trae Young, etc), but is there really no one out there who can be had for a couple 2nd rounders and at least can help the Spurs somewhat when they can't buy a 3 or keep teams from murdering them on the boards? Really?I much rather see Spurs do nothing than having to take Portis contract or than trading a first round pick for a player like Aldama.

Fair point. Still don't think it happens but I wouldn't mind it at all either. Klay's obv on his last legs, but he's still a great spot shooter on high volume. He'd be a solid addition off the bench for us and would almost certainly get more open looks playing alongside Wemby, Fox, Castle, etc., but not sure how many minutes he'd get here. Spurs (unsurprisingly) don't seem eager to make a move anyways though.I took that more as why have another Sochan situation on their hands for an extra year. We need a PF, no players that could help us have moved so far.Not saying they should make a big splashy move for the sake of it, but is there really no one out there who at least can help the Spurs somewhat when they can't buy a 3 or keep teams from murdering them on the boards? Really?
There's no reason for anyone to trade for Sochan since he's a free agent this summer.Yeah. The odd man out seems Sochan though. Apparently it's hard to make trades when the player isn't asking for a trade specifically to San AntonioBrian realized he couldn't bamboozle another team to make a lopsided trade so he gave up
