Looks like Rebuild trade rumors are starting already

Kuminga is basically a more athletic but lower IQ Keldon Johnson.

Not sure which team can use one of those in the starting lineup.

BKN, WAS, NOP... those kinds of teams. "More athletic lower IQ Keldon" sounds like a next level tank commander. He'll get you just enough highlights to get fans excited without threatening the win column.

Actually... Kuminga to NOP as a Zion replacement would be interesting...

Lol warriors. All their talk about being light years ahead and they shit the bed multiple times in the draft when they could have drafted a number of players instead of Wiseman/Kuminga/Moody that would have extended their window. Can't wait til this geezer team is finally taken out back for good

Fully expect Dallas to trade AD if there's a good offer. Opening/Easing a pathway to dealing AD had to be #2 on the list of reasons to fire Nico.

Trae Young for AD makes way too much sense.

Right now I expect he'll go home to Chicago.

I could see it, but what would be Chicago's path to matching $54M? Josh Giddey ($25M) in Dallas would be interesting. Coby White would be useful, but he only brings $12M to the table.

I can't imagine the multi-team deals under discussion behine the scenes. Actually, I can, and I'm sure it would be favorable towards the Spurs.

Some combo of Vuc, Williams, Heurter, Collins, okoro, white.... they wouldn't have a problem matching salaries...most of those are expiring too

More formally known as the poo poo platter.
Of yea...it sux... Dallas would only do it if they are prioritizing the cap space and draft picks... which is what they should do because they can use that cap space to acquire bad contracts this summer with more assets attached...

What was the worse fumble?

2003 Detroit drafting Darko, then winning a Title but only one Title where Bosh or Wade ensures multiple most likely.

2020/2021 Golden State drafting Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody then winning one Title when any singular of Haliburton or Sengun could have been had and guaranteed at least 1 more legit contention, maybe 2, not to mention Trey Murphy, Jalen Johnson, that at least actually extends their Curry window.

It’s the Warriors because they could have had Haliburton, Sengun, trade the Moody pick and walked away with one of Johnson, Murphy, Grimesto add with Curry and Draymond, Podz, etc.

As Spurs fans I don't really think we can really throw shade about the 2021 draft :ROFLMAO:

And not to be forgotten how it is really in DAL best interest to bottom out as hard as possible this year

My take is to build around Flagg like he’s a super Jalen Johnson. Surround him with long switchable defensive wings. They already have lively and gafford so that roller rim protector spot is fine. After they load up on the wings they can then look for a big guard like the Harper’s and the castles. Perhaps the draft this year would work out well for them again.

Players like Tre and morant makes little sense for them as they see ball dominant undersized no defense playing guys making near max money. Lamelo is a maybe but he’s too globetrotter. TM3 and herb jones would make sense but no way the pels will settle for ad with that.

Zion for AD is a change of scenery thing where both are injury prone. Zion is no where close to as good defensively (even against current AD) but his offensive style could work better with Flagg. Could be a short term swing just to help them bottom out for the draft.

Cleveland actually makes some sense but I’m not sure what the Mavs would want from them who are gettable.

Dallas should 100% tank, next draft is the last one they control in a while and they should aim at pairing Flagg with another top prospect from a good class , keep youngish vets unless they receive a great offer (PJ Washington, Gafford) and sell the rest for what they can (Anthony Davis, Kyrie). Say they get a top 4 pick, pretty much any of them are good fits with Flagg and you'd have a great young core plus Lively, Gafford, PJ Washington, and assets to go from there. With that said, I hope they keep themselves in play-in territory and have no shot at a top pick, we don't need any more competition in the West.

Supposedly, Garland and Allen can be had.

If the Mavs trade for Garland and Allen, the Mavs would have a solid base with Garland running point, Flagg, PJ Washington and Allen manning the middle. It would still be a comparatively young core that is relatively complete.

Problem is that both teams are over the tax line with the Cavs over the 2nd apron, and I can't make the salaries match under the trade machine. I tried to add the Spurs in there to grease the wheels but can't make the numbers work, but the structure of the deal is:
Cavs get AD
Mavs get Garland and Sochan
Spurs get Dean Wade and salary fillers.

Spurs has to grease the wheels with a ton of 2nd rounders to the Cavs and Mavs, but I just can't get the numbers to work. Perhaps someone smarter could get it to work.

Not sure if I understand the 2nd apron rules but the Cavs cannot aggregate salaries out, and nobody is making close to AD's $54M, so there is nothing they can do to add AD. Given they are about $23M over the 2nd apron, they must shed that $23M first before adding anything, which is unlikely to happen. Unless they are willing to give us Deandre Hunter for some 2nd round picks .......

But please correct me if I am wrong.

Pretty sure 2nd Apron can’t aggregate players to acquire a more expensive one. So no trading 2 for 1. They can only acquire in aggregate… meaning trade 1 for 2.

This was true with the Suns the last few years, but may have been a multi-year 2nd Apron penalty.
