I thought this might be interesting for a thread to post various non-creepy stories about seeing Spurs out in the community, that ideally doesn't devolve into a critique of their on court performance.

Without getting into details, I heard a story firsthand from someone who lives at Haven for Hope, the main homeless shelter in San Antonio, and two weeks ago Jeremy Sochan was there volunteering, helping serve food. It sounded like there weren't any camera crews or anything planned. I thought that was pretty cool. That's all.

I'm sure others have their own sightings...

I saw Harrison Barnes at a grocery store in Los Angeles this summer (I think he lives in LA in the offseason). I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

I saw Manu at Best Buy fairly shortly after he fouled Dirk unnecessarily to lose Game 7 v Dallas

My wife saw Tim Duncan at Staples buying a printer once. She to have me pull up a roster so she could ID “the really tall guy” she saw

I saw Patty Mills at the Hawaii airport last year. He was going on a flight to Sydney. He was keeping himself at a low profile because he was wearing shades. Pretty sure I was the only person around that recognized him so I didn’t approach him or anything but I did take a picture to show off to my friends lol.

I ran into LaMarcus Aldridge at HEB once.

We were in the pancake aisle looking at different kinds of syrups. He grabbed a jar of molasses which he was dropping into his basket. But he missed and it broke on the floor and started to seep everywhere. I moved out of the way so I wouldn't mess up my shoes. LaMarcus wasn't quick enough and the molasses got all over his shoes.

We both looked at the molasses and then at his shoes and then at each other and we both started laughing.
