Scott's Notes:
  • Late games are the best for me, but clearly not best for our community grades. Shout out to @LeBowen for being the only one to submit :)
  • Tough game to grade outside of the obvious standouts like Wemby and Carter Bryant. I won't spend too much time talking about them
  • This is going to sound extremely nitpicky, but I can't help myself... the end of our roster is an absolute disaster and leaves us with little margin for error should we need to go beyond the normal rotation. Why does this matter? Well, it's the difference being able to rest guys on some nights and not. We got up by 40 which allowed for extended scrub time, but I would not trust the third string with a 25-point lead going into the 4th quarter, they are that bad.
    • What is even the philosophy behind the way the deep bench is constructed? It it vet heavy but they aren't even useful vets. It's certainly not development oriented, except for maybe Lindy Waters, who has been out injured. Sochan's inclusion is logical as a former lotto pick who may still be able to develop but he's clearly completely out of the picture. Not being able to get minutes in a game like this seems like a pretty loud message being sent.
    • So with that said on Sochan... what's the point? Is this some kind of CIA Pop mind game that the team hopes will motivate him to eventual greatness? Is Jeremy in some kind of dangerous mental state where the Spurs feel some kind of responsibility for dragging him along? Is he so bad in practice that the team feels him completely unplayable but he's a good locker room presence? It's just baffling at this point... just let the kid go if he can't even get minutes in a game like this. It's reached the point where even I am starting to feel bad for him (and spare me the "he's a millionaire" response... sure he is, but he's still a person who worked towards a dream and now it's all clearly falling apart at the seams like a counterfeit Spurs t-shirt from the Alamodome parking lot)
    • Bismack... what the actual fuck man. This guy is a large part of why I'm starting to feel bad for Jeremy. Biyombo has to be the worst basketball player in the league right now. Dude couldn't even win a jump ball against (I think) Kobe fucking Bufkin without committing an offensive foul... TWICE! He must make the absolute best Moambe chicken in the entire world because what the fuck else is he doing on the team?
  • Anyway this game was awesome and I'm actually not even a fraction as upset as what I just wrote, but I felt like I had to write something since there weren't any comments submitted :st-lol: I hope Steph is okay and ready to go after the ASB

yeah, sorry. I would love games like these too, and would submit grades, but I'm:
  • on the east coast
  • don't stay up for the end of the game
  • had no incentive to watch the 2nd half because it was already over
  • don't like to submit grades when I don't watch the whole game

Still that 25 points in like 7 minutes by Wemby to start the game was worth making the game fun haha.

I hope Wemby has an 82 point game at some point. Certainly doable in this modern era of what constitutes today's variant of basketball, tbh.

almost everyone gets an A but it would have been the equivalent to being an open book test including being able to use the study guide that has all the answers. biyombo would have still failed. jordan gets a C-.
