Scott's Notes
  • Gritty team win. GSG
  • Fox & Barnes! Thank you, Kangz!
  • Keldon was huge, Sochan had a nice game, Vassell with a nice bounce back 2H and Kelly was very valuable
What You Said:
  • @heyheymymy: Fox was unstoppable in the 2nd half. Devin shot poorly but those steals and blocks were crucial. HB took over in the 4th and put the team on his back.
  • @Area 51.247: Maestro and the M's are bringing the defensive intensity and rebounding effort along. DV blocking a shot and later going to the court for a crucial steal! Manna from heaven.
  • @Davidicus: HB was a force of nature. Fox earned his paycheck, I’m hoping the rust is nearly gone. Really encouraged to see him play with more physicality and hit the deck on driving layups (I counted at least 3 times), but also wincing every time given our latest luck.
  • @brazil: Barnes is awesome
  • @LeBowen: Bryant was all over the place, but not in a good way. That energy needs to be channeled and directed. At least his shot looks solid.
Up next: Thursday versus the Hawks to close out the homestand. GSG!

Thanks for the Grades

The Spurs started flat but finished strong. Barnes was the hero, Fox found his clutch gear, and Mitch kept the ship steady enough to break the Grizzlies’ streak. Not perfect, but a win is a win — and this one showed the team can rally even without their Alien centerpiece.

NBC telecast: F+. Reggie Miller was extra annoying trying to create drama out of a game full of scrubs. That Noah guy legitimately scares me. Halftime crew is boring. Only good one is Jamal. B-b-b-b-b-basketball song is their MVP right now.

THAT Fox was exactly what we signed up for and if he can play like that consistently the acquisition and max deal were a slam dunk. Pun intended?

After his cold start Barnes has not only been on fire but just showed us he has a lot more capabilities than a simple role player when needed. Spur for life! Trade fodder, expiring, etc, no!

Olynk seems worth a mention as a smart player with veteran savvy. Which we can really appreciate the little things he does after lacking vet savvy and BBIQ for so many recent years.

KJ was also great and proving to be a worthy bench anchor. Minus going 1 for 5 on 3s, we don’t need him jacking those when he’s cold from outside.

Kornet held his ground but sadly he does not have the chemistry on offense with Fox as he does with Castle :(
Vassell really redeemed himself with some nice defensive plays for his typical inefficient hero ball on offense
With Olynyk the offense flows better ... glad we have him on the team as backup
And man Sochan hitting 2/3 threes ... huge shit

:st-flag: or we better prepare for a 5-game losing streak 💩
