He obviously wants out, but doesn't want to be an asshole about it and tank his value like some other players did.
Taking the KG route.
At least he already brought a championship there..But no one can blame him for seeking greener pastures to bolster his own legacy..Giannis has lowkey seen the meat of his prime getting wasted having only managed to win One playoffs series between age 27-31 (vs Bulls '22)-- the career juncture when virtually every ATG player rattles off the bulk of his Championships, deep POs runs, and personal accolades (Shaq, Timmy, Lebron, Curry etc,,). Giannis really has nothing show for the past four years..Only staying in The East might potentially recoup some of the lost time..

“Wemby’s not good enough’ isn’t something I can’t buy into. He may not be near his final form, but he’s plenty good enough (he’s not consistent enough is another thing). He easily a Top 5 player in the league at 50-60% of his potential. He can still win while he grows.
I feel the same way. I think a couple of issues with Vic is, one you already stated, is consistency. For what ever reason we haven't seen a consistent stretch of dominance to make me and assuming most of us comfortable enough to give him the title of next Tim Duncan yet. The talent is obviously there but it disappears at times. Which brings me to what I think (for what its worth) is his second issue. Stubbornness. It seems he's adamant to play a certain way when his physical attributes say another thing. Maybe I'm old school (been watching ball since the 80s) but a player that size should be dominating down low/around the rim. I know he doesn't have the Shaq bod/strength to physically punish players down low but we saw what the first 5-10 games of the season when he was posting up more what he can do. It was pretty amazing but he has since reverted back to playing like he did his earlier years. It looks like he gives up to easily when he can't get position down low mainly because he probably doesn't really want to be a back to the basket player. I know strength would help with this. He wants to play like a guard, Durant but his handles and shot just are not there yet. He does have flashes when his hitting but back to our first issue its just not consistent enough. Maybe I'm over thinking it and stubborns not the right word. Something just feels a little off sometimes seeing him play.

Yeah, the Lillard trade was a fucking disaster.

I could see Castle (the young centerpiece), the two ATL pick/swap, and a SAS pick, plus [Olynyk? Salary filler], being quite a competitive trade deadline offer. Don't see many teams that could beat this.

However it remains to be seen whether the Bucks are seriously interested in shipping Giannis out, or if this is an "appeasement leak" to keep him content, but then tell him "sorry, we tried, but no offers were good enough". Then take a wider look in the off-season.
You can’t trade just a swap, and you can’t trade the 26 pick/swap and the 27 pick, because that leaves us without a pick in consecutive drafts.

The only midseason trade partner I could kinda see would be the Knicks. But that would involve finding a 3rd team stupid enough to take a chance on KAT tbh.
Adam Silver would love to hijack det Superbowl weekend a la Luka trade last season. Think Giannis is a Knickerbocker in a week time, tbh.

The poo poo platter. Milwaukee can definitely do better Warriors have to get a third team involved
Knicks and Heat can both offer substantially better trade packages. Atlanta too if they have any serious interest in trading for Giannis.

Warriors future picks with a terminally declined or retired Curry and often-injured Giannis playing in the West are more enticing than anything but Hawks' Pels pick.

If they offer multiple UFRP's in the 2030's then sure. But based on all the comments Kerr has made recently about not wanting to do that because it screws your organization over long-term, I don't think that's on the table tbh. They might be offering 1, but I seriously doubt they're offering 3 or 4 UFRP's 2030 and beyond for a 31 year-old Giannis.

I think Kerr was referring to more realistic trades for high end role players.
Getting Giannis and having him and Curry for 2 or 3 seasons would probably be worth being bad for an extra couple of seasons.

Yeah Dubs are probably offering something like 4 FRPs 2026, 2027 (swap), 2028, 2029 (swap).. That's non-starter for Bucks especially with the lack of legit budding young prospect (s) in the mix..Bucks should be shooting for the extreme end of the 7-year limit in the Stepien rule when in it comes to future traded picks when dealing with GSW.

Just don't see Giannis in the West unless it's for the Spurs or Rockets.

Now you guys know why we were mentioned in Jose Alvarado rumors... gotta have someone for when we trade Castle for Giannis.

Not even gonna be able to pay for Alvarado in a year and a half if they trade for Giannis tbh

there is no reliable intel to support this, but do think Castle has played himself out of "untouchable" status over the past month? I don't think Spurs would do something of this seismic proportions at the deadline, but it would be interesting to see the new organization's internal assessment after their first playoffs run and assuming Giannis is still available by then. He is only 21, but somehow i feel like these are 3 important last few months followed up by a baptism by playoffs fire for Castle..

Joking aside... I don't think so unless it were something earth shattering that was a clearly better fit. I don't think the Spurs would move Castle for Giannis, because I think the Spurs are smart enough to see the pitfalls in acquiring Giannis (cost, fit, health).

Now on the other hand... if there was some bizarro world where the Sixers wanted to send us VJ for Castle? Or Nico Harrison hacked into the Mavericks facility and got the secret trade codes and offered Flagg for Castle and our 26 pick?

So realistically... no I don't see any realistic scenario where the Spurs would consider moving Stephon.

Also... in a special shout to The Ghost of TD21...

The Bucks were 30-13 when they fired Adrian Griffin. Since then they have gone 86-88 (including playoffs), had to waive and stretch Dame Lillard and are now going to lose Giannis.

Well done, Doc Rivers!

Former Milwaukee Buck Jae Crowder shares your sentiments.

Brooklyn?? Imagine going from the Bucks to the Nets :st-lol:

It makes sense, but only if it happens in the summer.
Nets don't own their 2027 pick and since MPJ would have to go the other way, it would be just Giannis and rookie contracts on the roster.
Could easily build a good team around him, especially if they land a top3 pick in this draft.

You don’t think Milwaukee will demand at LEAST this years pick?
