I see the Knicks, Heat, Lakers as the most likely destinations right now. Based on that being where Giannis wants to go and generally being the most attractive destinations.

If the Bucks tell Giannis to F OFF and send him where the best package is then I think the Hawks are in play. The problem for the Hawks is Giannis can opt out after next season and if he tells them he won’t sign an extension then they’re not giving up that NOP pick.

The team has been playing great without 2 of our top 3 players. Trading the farm for one guy isn't worth it.

I'm in favor of no major trades this year tbh (unless something like the Fox trade falls into their laps again). Let's see what this team can do. That said, I do think they need to acquire another rotational-caliber big.

I’m mostly interested in trades around the fringes. Can we add some useful front court depth, kind of moves. Something using SRPs as the centerpiece. You’ve always been good at finding those kinds of moves, so I look forward to what opportunities might avail themselves as we head to the deadline.

I also just want to see what this team looks like this season and into the first few rounds of the playoffs. We’ve yet to even see a single game of our Big 4… and I don’t think that can be stated enough for folks.
Not just this year, I want to see what this team looks like in 2-3 years. It's so rare to see a young core like this, I really think they can be better than OKC and I think the world of the Thunder.

When we say "this team" I assume we really mean the Big 4 plus whomever else we need to make it all work. I love Barnes, Keldon, Devin (this year) and Champ... but they may not be guys to be on this team in 3 years... but in any event, I'm with you. I don't see the need to go out and make a big move.

Yeah that's what I mean. Though I think Champ will still be a quite valuable role player even if the team has to pay him market value in two years. Keldon's playing himself into a nice contract the Spurs probably can't afford though wouldn't shock me to see him back on a below market deal since he seems to love south Texas so much.

KOC talking about Giannis to OKC for Chet or JDub + stuff seems interesting.

Not sure how I feel about it. They could very well four peat that way, but it also coult limit their longevity making room for us.

In that scenario I'd hope the Clippers pick is included. It makes me very nervous right now.

What do you think?

As much as I don't want to even pursue this...

I will say that if we somehow found a way of doing this without giving up an of our Big 4... a 3+2 lineup of Fox/Harper/Castle/Giannis/Wemby would be a lot of fun.

This is also the kind of lineup that you can't even keep together for very long in 2K :st-lol:
League low in 3ptm, %

Doc Rivers says Giannis has never asked or mentioned anything about leaving the bucks and that they talk every single day and Giannis loves the bucks, the city of milwaukee and his teammates.

/thread
The biggest problem with Giannis is that he tends to blame everything else for not winning a championship every year. He must be extremely vocal about this, given the many extreme moves the Bucks have made to keep him happy ever since they built a contender.

He won a championship with a Big Three:
Chris Middleton, who, like Giannis, was developed by the organization, and
Jrue Holiday, whom the front office skillfully acquired in a trade for Eric Bledsoe. So, where are those guys now?
GONE!
These are guys who are gonna get Jersey Retired in the Buck arena.

Imagine if Tim Duncan, after 1999, had demanded changes instead of being content that the front office and his teammates gave him a chance to contend every year—that’s really all you can ask for. Sometimes the ball just bounces the wrong way, and you lose a series. Even if the coach underperforms, like when Bud was dealing with a family death, you don’t demand he be fired.

All because this guy buys into the hype about himself more than anything. You’d have to be completely out of your mind to even consider trading for him after what we’ve seen from this Spurs team so far this season.

If Doc Rivers is hearing anything, it’s just Giannis being a duplicitous cutthroat who got two teammates traded and two head coaches fired due to his unrealistic views of his own abilities or the impact any one player can have on winning playoff series—especially someone who has historically struggled at free throws and three-point shooting in the modern NBA.

Milwaukee, if they’re smart, should just trade this guy who has already cost them their cap space and valuable assets in an effort to accommodate and keep GIANNIS HAPPY. Hopefully, they can fleece another franchise, and the Spurs will be wise enough to give this player a wide berth despite all the dreadful chatter from X account journalists online.

FUCK THIS GUY...If you HATE KAWHI... this guy is WORSE because he isn't MUTE about ANYTHING..... Fucking MALCONTENT CUNT

As usual, people are lagging behind with their narratives. The “we need another shooter” idea was said because people didn’t think Fox, Harper (Castle will soon get there, too) would be threats from deep. Well, that opinion should be updated now. They are good shooters and are becoming better. The lineup doesn’t need to compensate for anything as people previously thought.

Also, Wemby is a shooter (or at least badly wants to be one) and you have to take that into account.
They're not all good shooters. Fox is a good shooter. Harper and Castle are still in the not good/ok range.

Also they are good shooters in some circumstances - not all 3s are created equal and there are types of 3s they simply can't make.

I hope the Thunder are dumb enough to do it tbh; they'll win this year and next but will start waning when the Spurs are ready to start winning. That said, with all their future draft capital they can prolly do it and reload quickly.

Wow already 9 pages for a trade that doesn't make any sense... :ROFLMAO:

Whoever sign Giannis better win this season because they'll fuck their franchise for the next decade.

yeah but we know they aren't dumb tho

Okc has a too much talent pb, it's the last team that needs Giannis. Actually, chances are he'd mess up everything.

They should absolutely do it. Chet and JDub’s ceilings aren’t much higher than where they are at now. They’re already paid a lot, too. Nothing to lose if that’s the trade.

I don't want Giannis on the Spurs when we've barely seen how the team plays without injuries. Theoretically, it would make sense to trade Giannis for Fox. Doing so now would be to second-guess last year's choice. It's too early when we haven't even seen Fox and Wemby play more than ten games together.

Giannis would probably prefer to go to New York anyway. This kind of trade almost always involves a third team to balance interests and finances. Atlanta seems to be the right candidate (among others).

They have shown that they can play just as well, if not better, without Trae Young. The latter has often been the subject of trade rumors. In the current team configuration, they give few balls to their first draft pick, Risacher. Given the contract that the latter will be eligible for one day, it makes no sense to play him as a fourth option and frustrate him on offense. The Hawks don't need Young or Risacher. By acquiring players from both the Bucks and the Knicks, they would keep their core intact and strengthen themselves considerably.

The Bucks would take in all the rejects (especially French ones) from the Knicks and Hawks, but that's kind of the fate of small markets in rebuilding mode.

Don't spur a trade for Giannis.

Tbh I don't think OKC has any reasonable motivation to do any trade...they are 21-1 and has 2 potential top 5 picks for the next 2 drafts.

Giving up 1/4 or 1/3 your team and Draft picks for such a big time player would be reasonable and strong motivation for the teams which are not seen as the favourite to win-it-all.

OKC is leading the whole league by a mile with their insane defense and mountain loads of superb value draft picks. Trading for Giannas who is "quite" injury-prone and 31 years old and messing their current team chemistry is stupid.

Maybe Daryl Morey or Lawrence Frank or Nico Harrison would pull such retarded move. But Sam Presti...He is probably just putting all his time and efforts on the 2026 Draft now :st-lol:

Just a reminder also that when the bucks traded for Dame, everybody thought that the Dame - Giannis PNR would be completely unstoppable and would be the staple of the bucks offense. Turns out that never materialized because Giannis didn’t want to set screens and wanted to play his own way. The fit if he’s acquired would be way less clean than, say, a KD who universally fits in every system. There’s a very real chance where wemby is used like super brook lopez, which I think none of us wants.

Don't forget that Giannis/Kornet lineups would have really bad spacing and we'd have to stagger lineups so Kornet plays most minutes with Wemby.
Keldon's fit in Giannis lineups would also be questionable. As would Castle's if he stayed.

Same goes for his fit on some other teams. How does Giannis with with Amen if they keep him?
How does he fit with Brunson's hero ball? Is Mike Brown the coach to figure that out?
Even if the laegue gifts him to the Lakers, how does the offense work with Luka if Giannis doesn't want to be the roll man?

Also, Giannis missed 43 games over past 3 seasons. Missed 6 in this one already before getting injured again.
And he's missed the playoffs in both 2023 and 2024.
