Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Watch

Agree to the Trade for Greek Freak (top 4 player on the planet now)?

I'm actually a pretty big Giannis fan, but I don't want him.

:st-popemote: I like what we have

I hope we are quickly removed from rumors so that I can sit back and enjoy the drama without stress.

Fun plot twist would be to see him in POR. Would be wild for the Dame saga to end with Lillard and Giannis as teammates in POR.

Totally agree, IF all it takes for the Spurs to acquire Giannis is a trade like you suggested above or even the ESPN trade has proposed you have to do that.
No you don't I think Gannis makes are window smaller at getting a championship. Castle, Harpr Wemby gives us more than 2-3 years window fox right now say 4. Gannis is a 2-3 year window at best and I am not sure he makes this team better another ball dominant big we already have the best ball dominant big is he going to become David Robinson and defer to wemby like David did to Duncan ?

My guess is the answer is no I do not see the hype of Gannis in SA at this point in his career

I know you mentioned 3 teamer but the Bucks are going to have to take in a lot of salary in place of Giannis (which teams have trade exceptions rotting right now?). Any players Milwaukee brings in should be young or expiring and KAT/OG are neither of those. I've seen mention of Atl/Trae going out, same issue, why the hell would the Bucks want to be in the Trae Young business? The last thing the Bucks should want is an inferior "star" player.

I doubt any trade could happen before December 15th due to all the free agency signings not being eligible to be traded until then. The Giannis calf strain slightly tempers things as well for right now. The fact he went down 3 mins into the first game since this reporting came out is insane to me.
Just my opinion but I do believe Trae still holds value in this league, and he opts in next year there will definitely be a team interested in him, IMO. Not for a huge haul, but enough to be a little sweetener for Giannis.

So basically, Bucks would be acquiring Trae as salary filler where they are mostly being compensated by juicy picks (NOP, their own) and then they can flip Trae for a little more.

With OKC poised to win 72+ it softens the urgency to do anything crazy. Go all in for Giannis just to be a big underdog against the Thunder for a couple years? Nah, lets grow with who we've got and make moves to improve our positions of need.

Agreed! And... we've yet to even see our Big 4 play a single game together!

youre never beating OKC without a big move like this.

youre not "developing" into beating OKC

I have some "Ewing Theory" concerns about Trae admittedly so my opinion is a bit tainted. I think he is going to expect a huge extension as well and will end up going to whoever will pay it. The juicy picks could make the juice worth the squeeze. If the Bucks could come out of this with Darryn, AJ or Cam to build around that would be something their fans could get behind. No telling how lottery turns out though as we know.

Agree to disagree. You could argue last season after they traded for Dame, but everyone could see that they weren't going to be contenders this season with that roster. Not even close. Teams would've lined up this offseason and offered bigger deals than they will now with all these injuries piling up. Bucks are going to get fucked if they trade him in-season. The return will be shit compared to what it could've been.
The Bucks give up for Dame Lillard was a level 10 retard move.
Now? Agree the Bucks won't get squat until Greek Freak suits up again and shows that his injury has (apparently) healed.
Trading Freak 2 years ago could have provided a major haul. Keeping Holiday and their draft pics was the way to have gone.

If Harper is who we think he is, and Bucks asks for Castle, would you not do it? Harper alone extends the championship window.

I love Castle btw obviously. I think he has the most heart in the team.

In two years when Wemby hits his prime and you have an All NBA starting backcourt in Harper and Fox with Steph a defensive ace bulling to the rim I think you have a great shot at taking down OKC. Spurs are probably even the favorite in that matchup then. This is just too insane of a core to break up.

Dusty just posted saying Spurs and Milwaukee have had initial discussions but that Castle and Harper are off the table. So basically no deal to be made
Or Spurs want Milwaukee to take Fox?

Knicks will be where Giannis wants to go, but they have no picks.
Their best offer as far as picks go would be: '26 WAS (top8 protected, won't convey, would just be SRPs), '26 NYK swap, '28 worst of PHI/BKN/NYK, swap, '30 swap, '32 swap.
They can't offer a single pick outright because all were traded for Bridges.

Unless someone gives them a haul for OG/Bridges/KAT I can't see how that trade happens, it would be more one-sided than Luka trade.

Or Spurs want Milwaukee to take Fox?
Fox can't be traded until Feb 4 and I think this is likely to move faster than that. I don't want the Bucks, or any other team for that matter, want to deal with 2 months of trade speculation.

(And pls don't drag my sweet Fox's name through the trade rumor mud)

If Castle and Harper are off the table then the talks must be over with. I don't think there's much interest in the tank squad but i' say it wouldn't be the worst timing for Vassell to be traded for some value since he's actually been productive lately.

This is giving me flashbacks to when that YouTuber Clan the Spurs fan would talk non-stop about Sochan was a deal breaker in any Lauri trade scenario :st-lol:
I'll just say I got unbelievable amount of shit from most ST members whenever I suggested we trade thost ATL picks for Markkanen.
We'd be the biggest threat to OKC if we did a Vassell/Sochan/Branham/Wesley+2 ATL FRPs for Markkanen.
